Talcher Kaniha: Mr. Ajay Singh Yadav has taken over as Head of Project (HOP) at NTPC Limited’s Talcher Kaniha power station, the third largest power generating facility of the company. NTPC is a Maharatna PSU under the Government of India.
Experienced Power Sector Leader Takes Charge
Ajay Singh Yadav brings more than 36 years of experience in NTPC. He began his career on September 5, 1989, as an Executive Trainee in the Mechanical stream and has since built a strong track record in operations, project management, and leadership roles.

Educational Background and Expertise
Mr. Yadav holds:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jiwaji University, Gwalior
- Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon
His academic background supports his extensive technical and managerial experience in the power sector.
Extensive Career Across Major NTPC Projects
During his long career, he has worked at several major NTPC stations and corporate assignments, including:
- Korba Power Station
- Anta Power Station
- Khargone Power Project
- Tanda Power Station
- NTPC Corporate Centre, New Delhi
- Talaipalli Coal Mining Project (as Head of Project)
His experience spans fuel handling, operations & maintenance, project execution, and corporate planning.

Known for his leadership in safety and operational efficiency, Mr. Yadav has attended multiple training programs in:
- Leadership development
- Risk management
- Safety systems
In his new role at Talcher Kaniha, his focus will be on improving operational performance, strengthening sustainability practices, and enhancing coordination with stakeholders and local communities.
