New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has been declared the successful bidder under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process for a major Inter-State Transmission System project aimed at evacuating power from Lakadia, Jam Khambhaliya and Jamnagar.
The project, titled “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1GW) – Part-C,” will be implemented under the Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) mode.
765/400/220 kV Alephata Substation to Be Established
Under the project, POWERGRID will establish a new 765/400/220 kV Alephata Substation in Maharashtra.
The project will also include the construction of 765 kV and 400 kV transmission lines traversing through the state, along with associated equipment and bays required for the transmission system.
The planned transmission infrastructure will form part of the common transmission system for evacuating power from the identified generation areas at Lakadia, Jam Khambhaliya and Jamnagar.

POWERGRID Secures Nine TBCB Projects in FY 2026-27
The latest project win adds to POWERGRID’s growing portfolio of transmission projects secured through the TBCB route during the current financial year. With this successful bid, POWERGRID has secured nine transmission system projects under TBCB in FY 2026-27 so far.
The company’s cumulative Annual Transmission Charges from these nine projects stand at ₹7,664.08 crore.
Regulatory Disclosure
POWERGRID disclosed the development to the stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations.
