New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has appointed Mr. Amol Babulal Taori as the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from August 20, 2026. He will continue to serve as Director (Finance) alongside his new responsibility.
The decision was approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on August 20, 2026, in Gurugram.
Amol Babulal Taori Appointed as POWERGRID CFO
Following the Board’s decision, Mr. Amol Babulal Taori has formally taken over as CFO of POWERGRID with effect from August 20, 2026.
His appointment comes shortly after he assumed charge as Director (Finance) on August 18, 2026, following an order issued by the Ministry of Power.
With the latest appointment, Taori will oversee the company’s financial functions while continuing in his role as Director (Finance).

Previous CFO Venkata Subrahamanayam Vallurie Ceases to Hold Position
Consequent to the appointment of Mr. Taori as CFO, Mr. Venkata Subrahamanayam Vallurie, Chief General Manager (Finance & Accounts), has ceased to hold the position of CFO of POWERGRID.
The change marks a formal transition in the company’s top financial leadership.
Amol Taori Brings Nearly Three Decades of Finance Experience
Mr. Amol Babulal Taori is a Chartered Accountant with nearly three decades of experience across corporate finance, treasury, international trade and financial management.
Before joining POWERGRID, he served as Executive Director (In-charge), International Trade, at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
During his tenure at HPCL, he handled several key areas, including:
- Corporate finance and treasury operations
- Crude oil procurement
- Product imports and exports
- International trade
- Financial and risk management
- Borrowing cost optimisation
- International debt and equity engagements
He also played a key role in HPCL’s maiden US dollar bond issue and contributed to initiatives aimed at reducing the company’s borrowing costs.
POWERGRID Board Meeting Held on August 20
The POWERGRID Board of Directors considered and approved the CFO appointment at its meeting held on August 20, 2026.
The meeting commenced at 1:00 p.m. and concluded at 1:20 p.m.
The appointment of Mr. Taori as CFO was formalised during the meeting following his recent appointment as Director (Finance).
