New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has appointed Mr. Amol Babulal Taori as Director (Finance) on its Board with effect from August 18, 2026.
The appointment follows an order issued by the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Taori will hold the position for five years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
With nearly three decades of experience across finance, treasury, international trade and marketing, Taori is expected to strengthen POWERGRID’s financial management and strategic growth initiatives.
Amol Babulal Taori Brings Nearly 30 Years of Experience
Mr. Amol Babulal Taori is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in corporate finance and treasury operations.
Before joining POWERGRID, he served as Executive Director (In-charge), International Trade, at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
During his career at HPCL, he has handled several important areas, including:
- Corporate finance and treasury
- Crude oil procurement
- Product imports and exports
- International trade
- Financial and risk management
- Borrowing cost optimisation
- International debt and equity engagements
He also played a key role in HPCL’s maiden US dollar bond issue and contributed to initiatives aimed at reducing the company’s borrowing costs.

Taori’s International and Board-Level Experience
Taori has represented HPCL at global equity and debt roadshows, providing him with exposure to international financial markets and investors.
He has also served as a trustee of HPCL’s employee benefits trusts.
In addition, Taori served as a Director on the Board of HPCL Middle East FZCO, Dubai, giving him experience in international business operations and corporate governance.
Appointment Approved at POWERGRID Board Meeting
The appointment was approved by the POWERGRID Board of Directors at its meeting held on August 18, 2026.
The Board meeting commenced at 3:05 PM IST and concluded at 3:15 PM IST.
Following Taori’s appointment, Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel), relinquished the additional charge of Director (Finance).
Five-Year Tenure as Director (Finance)
As per the Ministry of Power’s order, Taori’s tenure as Director (Finance) will be:
- Effective from: August 18, 2026
- Tenure: Five years from the date of assumption of charge
- Or: Until further orders, whichever is earlier
- Position: Director (Finance), POWERGRID
His extensive financial and treasury background is expected to support POWERGRID’s financial operations and strategic expansion.
Governance and Regulatory Compliance
POWERGRID has confirmed that Mr. Amol Babulal Taori is not related to any of the Directors or Key Managerial Personnel of the company.
The company has also stated that he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any SEBI order or any other regulatory authority.
The disclosures form part of the company’s regulatory and corporate governance requirements related to the appointment.
