ACC Clears Director-Level Appointment

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Meena has been selected for the Director-level post in TRIFED following a proposal from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

The appointment is against a vacancy created after the temporary downgrading of the post from Level-14 to Level-13 (Director Level), while retaining the post’s responsibilities and pay structure for the purpose of the appointment.

Key Role in Tribal Development Ecosystem

As Executive Director at TRIFED, Meena will be associated with one of the country’s premier organizations working for the socio-economic development of tribal communities.

TRIFED functions under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and plays a crucial role in promoting tribal livelihoods, marketing tribal products, supporting forest-based economies, and implementing flagship initiatives aimed at empowering tribal artisans and entrepreneurs.

Appointment Under Central Staffing Scheme

The appointment has been approved under the Central Staffing Scheme, which facilitates the deployment of officers from various All India and Central Services to key positions in the Union Government and autonomous organizations.

The DoPT order notes that the officer is required to assume charge of the post within the stipulated period prescribed under ACC guidelines.

Experienced Financial Administrator

Prateek Singh Meena belongs to the 2012 batch of the Indian Railway Accounts Service, a premier Group ‘A’ service responsible for financial management, budgeting, audit and expenditure control within the Indian Railways system.

His move to TRIFED is expected to bring valuable administrative and financial management experience to the organization as it continues to expand tribal market access and livelihood initiatives across the country.

Strengthening Tribal Welfare Initiatives

The appointment comes at a time when TRIFED is playing an increasingly important role in promoting tribal entrepreneurship, value addition, digital marketing platforms and market linkages for tribal products under various government programmes.

The induction of officers through the Central Staffing Scheme is aimed at strengthening governance, institutional capacity and policy implementation within organizations working in priority development sectors.
