Kolkata: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) has appointed Cmde Sreekumar Srinivasan, IN (Retd.), as its new Chief General Manager (Technical), effective May 27, 2026. The appointment has been officially disclosed to stock exchanges in line with SEBI Listing Regulations.
Appointment Effective from May 27, 2026
The defence PSU confirmed that Cmde Srinivasan assumed charge on May 27, 2026. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The filing was submitted by Sandeep Mahapatra, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of GRSE.
Strong Naval and Technical Background
Cmde Sreekumar Srinivasan brings extensive experience from his long service in the Indian Navy, particularly in ship design, production, and technical operations.
His key professional experience includes:
- Warship Design Bureau
- Naval Dockyards in Mumbai and Visakhapatnam
- Directorate of Ship Production at Integrated Headquarters (IHQ)
He joined the Indian Navy in 1997 and has contributed to several critical defence shipbuilding and engineering roles.
Academic Qualifications
Cmde Srinivasan has a strong academic foundation in naval engineering and management:
- B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Ship Building – Cochin University of Science and Technology
- M.Tech in Corrosion Science & Engineering – IIT Bombay
- Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies
His combined technical and managerial expertise is expected to support GRSE’s ongoing defence manufacturing projects.

With this appointment, GRSE aims to further strengthen its technical leadership in shipbuilding and defence engineering. The company is one of India’s key defence public sector undertakings engaged in designing and building naval vessels for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard.
