Punjab Govt Releases ₹204.69 Crore for Free Textbooks Scheme for SC Students Across State

Punjab: The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has released ₹204.69 crore under the Free Textbook Supply Scheme for Scheduled Caste (SC) students studying from Class I to X, according to Punjab Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur.

The initiative aims to strengthen access to quality education for children from economically weaker and marginalized communities across the state.

Focus on Educational Empowerment for Underprivileged Students

Dr. Baljit Kaur said the Punjab Government is committed to ensuring that no child is deprived of education due to financial difficulties.

She stated that the funds have been provided to the Punjab School Education Board to support the distribution of free textbooks to thousands of SC students.

According to the minister, the scheme is helping create a strong educational foundation for children belonging to disadvantaged sections of society.
