Punjab: The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is preparing to launch a statewide initiative aimed at strengthening women’s participation in the workforce through skill development and employment support.
As part of this effort, a series of Job Skill Camps will be organized across all districts of Punjab to enhance employability, entrepreneurship, and career opportunities for women.
First Job Skill Camp to Begin in Sri Muktsar Sahib on September 10
The first camp will be launched on September 10 in Sri Muktsar Sahib by Cabinet Minister Baljit Kaur. These camps are being organized in collaboration with the Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Department and will primarily be conducted in educational institutions across the state.
Focus on Women Empowerment and Skill Development
Speaking about the initiative, Minister Baljit Kaur emphasized the government’s strong commitment to improving the quality of life for women, children, and senior citizens.
She stated that the Punjab Government places high priority on empowering women through practical skill-building programmes that directly improve their employment prospects.
The Job Skill Camps are designed to provide:

The initiative aims to bridge the skill gap and create more employment opportunities for women across Punjab. By equipping participants with industry-relevant skills and knowledge, the camps will also encourage women to explore self-employment and entrepreneurial ventures.
