Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Lays Foundation of ₹14.63 Crore Modern Sports Stadium in Satauj to Boost Youth Sports

Punjab: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today laid the foundation stone of a modern sports stadium worth ₹14.63 crore in village Satauj. The project is being seen as a major step toward promoting sports, health, and discipline among the state’s youth.

The stadium will be developed over 4.38 acres and will offer world-class sports infrastructure for multiple disciplines.

World-Class Sports Facilities Across Multiple Disciplines

The upcoming sports complex will support training and competitions in several sports, including:

  • Badminton
  • Handball
  • Judo
  • Netball
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Football
  • Gymnastics
  • Kabaddi
  • Karate

It will also feature modern infrastructure designed for professional-level training.

200-Meter Athletic Track and Indoor Sports Complex

The Chief Minister said the stadium will include:

  • 200-meter athletic track
  • Pavilion for players and spectators
  • Multi-purpose indoor sports hall

These facilities aim to provide structured training opportunities and help young athletes compete at professional and national levels.

Boost to Youth Development and Sports Culture

CM Bhagwant Mann said the stadium will play a key role in strengthening sports culture in Punjab. He emphasized that providing better facilities will help young players represent their villages, state, and country at global platforms.

He added that balanced development in education and sports is essential for shaping a strong and successful generation.

Government Focus on Youth Empowerment

The Punjab government reiterated its commitment to youth development through improved sports and education infrastructure.

The Chief Minister said such projects will:

Step Against Drug Abuse Through Sports

CM Mann also highlighted that expanding sports infrastructure will help combat drug abuse in the state. He said encouraging youth participation in sports will reduce social issues and promote healthier lifestyles.

The stadium is expected to become a major sports hub for the region, offering young athletes professional training facilities and helping them excel in national and international competitions.
