Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has ordered the transfer and posting of two officers of the IAS and PCS cadres following approval from the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The orders, issued by the Department of Personnel with immediate effect, were issued in accordance with a directive from Punjab Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha.
The reshuffle involves changes in key administrative positions in Amritsar and Jalandhar, with an IAS officer being shifted within the Amritsar district administration and a PCS officer moving from Amritsar to the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation.
Pallavi Mishra Appointed ADC Rural Development, Amritsar
Pallavi Mishra, IAS (2023 batch), has been transferred from her current position as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Amritsar.
She has now been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Amritsar.
Mishra will replace Surinder Singh, PCS, who was serving as ADC (Rural Development), Amritsar.
The transfer marks a change in the administrative leadership of the rural development wing of the Amritsar district administration.
Surinder Singh Posted as Jalandhar MC Commissioner
Surinder Singh, PCS (2012 batch), has been relieved of his position as ADC (Rural Development), Amritsar.
His services have been placed at the disposal of the Department of Local Government.
He has subsequently been appointed Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, replacing Sandeep Rishi, IAS.
The posting brings Singh into the urban local government administration in Jalandhar, where he will take charge of the Municipal Corporation.
Two Key Administrative Changes
The latest orders effectively result in the following changes:
- Pallavi Mishra, IAS (2023) — Transferred from ADC (General), Amritsar; appointed ADC (Rural Development), Amritsar.
- Surinder Singh, PCS (2012) — Relieved as ADC (Rural Development), Amritsar; appointed Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, under the Department of Local Government.
- The transfers have been issued with immediate effect after obtaining the required approval from the Election Commission of India.
