Union Minister of State Nityanand Rai Addresses Probationary IPS Officers During ‘Dikshant ‘ Parade At SVPNPA

The Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) recently conducted the passing out (‘Dikshant’) parade of the 76th Regular Recruit batch of IPS probationers on September 20th in Hyderabad. The Union Minister of State for Home, Mr. Nityanand Rai, attended the ceremony as its Chief Guest and addressed the budding IPS officers.

While addressing the young officers, Mr. Rai said, “I would like to congratulate the passing out parade of the IPS probationers of the 76 RR batch. It is because of your hard work today that you have come such a long way. I would also like to extend my wishes to the teachers who have done a good job in imparting knowledge to the batch. You have been made ready for the upcoming challenges that you will face. You have the power and the responsibility of shaping the country’s protectors and glorifying the nation. We are all sure that you will always do a commendable job.

During his speech, Mr. Rai further expressed, “The country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, now we are all waiting for the centenary of our Independence. In this century, more emphasis should be given to duties than rights. The 21st century should belong to India, and in 2047 when we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of our independence, India should be a developed nation. We all have to work together with this resolution.

He even asked the 76th RR Batch of IPS probationer officers to understand the new criminal laws and work towards preventing the crime instead of punishing criminals. Observing that cybercrime has emerged as a major challenge, the minister asked the IPS officer trainees to lead the endeavour to address the challenge with technical expertise. Addressing them after reviewing the passing out parade at the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel National Police Academy near Hyderabad, he said Cyber forensic lab, Police Technology Mission and other initiatives have been taken by the Union Home Ministry to strengthen the police system. Observing that terrorism and left-wing extremism have almost been eliminated, he asked the young IPS probationers to be firm against them to root them out completely.

The “Dikshant” parade marked the culmination of basic course training for 207 officer trainees, including 188 IPS officers and 19 foreign officers from countries like Nepal, Bhutan and others, with a notable 58 lady officers among them. The IPS trainees shall return to the academy for the final nine weeks of training, beginning May 26th, 2025.
