UP Govt Transfers 18 IAS Officers; Aditya Srivastava Gets Shahjahanpur Posting

The Yogi Govt has transferred 18 IAS officers in a major administrative reshuffle, moving Assistant Magistrates to Joint Magistrate posts across several districts, including Shahjahanpur, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh and Lucknow.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday ordered the transfer and posting of 18 IAS officers from 2024 batch, bringing significant changes at the district administration level. The officers, who were serving as Assistant Magistrates in different districts, have now been posted as Joint Magistrates across the state.

The reshuffle covers several districts and is aimed at placing the young IAS officers in key field-level administrative assignments. The transfers include postings in Shahjahanpur, Basti, Budaun, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Maharajganj, Deoria, Sultanpur, Jaunpur, Auraiya, Prayagraj, Kanpur Dehat, Ballia, Kushinagar, Mainpuri, Jhansi, Raebareli and Lucknow.

Aditya Srivastava Posted as Joint Magistrate Shahjahanpur

According to the official order, UPSC CSE-2023 topper and 2024 batch IAS officer Aditya Srivastava, who was serving as Assistant Magistrate (collector) in Moradabad, has been transferred and posted as Joint Magistrate, Shahjahanpur.

Several other officers have also been moved from their existing Assistant Magistrate assignments to new districts as part of the reshuffle.

Young IAS Officers Get Key Field Assignments

The reshuffle gives the 18 IAS officers fresh exposure to district-level administration in their new roles as Joint Magistrates.

The postings span western, central, eastern and southern parts of Uttar Pradesh, covering districts with diverse administrative requirements. The new assignments are expected to provide the officers with greater field-level responsibilities and experience in handling revenue, development, law and order coordination and other aspects of district administration.

The movement also represents a significant rotation among Assistant Magistrates who had been working in different districts during their initial field assignments.

Wide Geographic Spread of the Reshuffle

The latest changes affect a broad range of districts, with officers being moved across different administrative regions of Uttar Pradesh.

Among the prominent destinations are Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Prayagraj, Sultanpur, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Lucknow, Shahjahanpur and Basti.

With 18 officers being posted simultaneously, the order marks a notable bureaucratic reshuffle at the junior field-administration level in the state.

The officers have been assigned their new responsibilities as Joint Magistrates in accordance with the government order.
