Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has ordered the transfer and posting of 12 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers with immediate effect, bringing changes across senior police, vigilance, cyber crime, anti-narcotics and commissionerate assignments.
According to an order issued by the Department of Home Affairs, Home-I Branch, several officers have been shifted to new responsibilities, while some have been given additional charges. Among the key changes, 1994-batch IPS officer V Neeraja has been posted as Special DGP, NRI, Punjab, SAS Nagar, replacing 1997-batch IPS officer Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal.
Jaiswal has been posted as ADGP, Cyber Crime, Punjab, SAS Nagar, while continuing to hold the additional charge of ADGP, Jails, Punjab, Chandigarh.
The officers concerned have been directed to join their new places of posting immediately.
V Neeraja Posted as Special DGP, NRI
V Neeraja, IPS (RR:1994), who was serving as Special DGP, Cyber Crime, Punjab, has been shifted to the post of Special DGP, NRI, Punjab, SAS Nagar.

She replaces Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal in the assignment.
The change comes as part of the wider administrative reshuffle ordered by the Punjab Government, which has affected senior positions across different wings of the state police.
Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal Gets ADGP Cyber Crime Charge
Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal, IPS (RR:1997), who was serving as ADGP, NRI, with additional charge of ADGP, Jails, has been posted as ADGP, Cyber Crime, Punjab, SAS Nagar.
Jaiswal will, however, continue to hold the additional charge of ADGP, Jails, Punjab, Chandigarh.
The move places him in charge of the state’s cyber crime apparatus while retaining his responsibility for the prison administration.
Nanak Singh Gets Additional Vigilance Charge
Nanak Singh, IPS (RR:2011), who is serving as DIG, Ropar Range, Ropar, has been given the additional charge of DIG, Internal Vigilance Cell, Punjab, Chandigarh.
He will continue to serve as DIG, Ropar Range, while also overseeing the Internal Vigilance Cell.
Vatsala Gupta Posted as AIG, Pers-II
Vatsala Gupta, IPS (RR:2016), who was serving as Commandant, 27th Battalion PAP, Jalandhar, with additional charges including AIG ANTF, Ludhiana and AIG ARP & SDRF, Jalandhar, has been posted as AIG, Pers-II, Punjab, Chandigarh.
Her earlier additional charge of AIG, ANTF, Ludhiana, will be affected by the new posting.
Pragya Jain Gets ANTF and Internal Security Responsibilities
Pragya Jain, IPS (RR:2017), has been posted as AIG, ANTF, Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana.
She will also hold the additional charge of AIG, Internal Security, Punjab, Ludhiana.
With the new arrangement, Vatsala Gupta has been relieved of the additional charge of AIG, ANTF, Ludhiana.
The posting gives Pragya Jain responsibility for two important areas linked to anti-narcotics operations and internal security.
Multiple Changes in Ludhiana and Jalandhar
The reshuffle also brings several changes in the police commissionerates of Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar.
- Arvind Meena, IPS (RR:2020), who was serving as SP Headquarters, Ropar, has been posted as DCP, Law & Order, Ludhiana.
- Akarshi Jain, IPS (RR:2020), has been posted as DCP, Headquarters, Amritsar, moving from her earlier assignment as ADCP-I, Jalandhar.
- Jasroop Kaur Batth, IPS (RR:2020), who was serving as ADCP-III, Amritsar, has been posted as DCP, Law & Order, Jalandhar.
- Meanwhile, Aditya S. Warrier, IPS (RR:2020), who was serving as SP, Investigation, Amritsar Rural, has been posted as DCP, City, Jalandhar.
These postings mark changes in key operational and law-and-order positions in three major Punjab police commissionerates.
Jayant Puri Shifted to Amritsar
Jayant Puri, IPS (RR:2021), who was serving as ADCP, Investigation, Jalandhar, has been transferred and posted as ADCP, Investigation, Amritsar.
He replaces Jagbinder Singh, PPS, in the assignment.
The posting places Puri in charge of investigation-related responsibilities in Amritsar.
Ashok Meena to Look After SP Investigation, Sri Muktsar Sahib
Ashok Meena, IPS (RR:2022), who was serving as ASP, SD North, Jalandhar, has been directed to look after the work of SP, Investigation, Sri Muktsar Sahib.
He replaces Manmeet Singh, PPS, in the assignment.
Dharavath Sai Prakash Gets ADCP-III Ludhiana Charge
Dharavath Sai Prakash, IPS (RR:2022), who was serving as ASP, Intelligence, has been directed to look after the work of ADCP-III, Ludhiana.
He replaces Dev Singh, PPS, in the assignment.
The posting adds another important operational responsibility to the officer’s portfolio.

The reshuffle affects senior-level responsibilities in NRI affairs, cyber crime, jails, internal vigilance, anti-narcotics, internal security and law-and-order policing, besides bringing changes in the police leadership of Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar and Sri Muktsar Sahib.
The latest changes are aimed at administrative realignment and ensuring continuity in key policing responsibilities across the state.
