Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday held a courtesy meeting with the organisers of the upcoming “India Digital Empowerment Meet and Award” ceremony. The discussion focused on key aspects of the event and broader themes related to India’s digital future.
Organisers and government representatives also exchanged views on how the conference could contribute to shaping a stronger digital ecosystem in the country.
CM Highlights Importance of AI and Emerging Technologies
During the interaction, Chief Minister Dhami stressed the growing importance of modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and science-driven innovation.
He said that meaningful dialogue among experts in these fields is essential in the current era. According to him, conferences like this can help generate insights that may guide not only Uttarakhand but also the national digital landscape in a positive direction.
Uttarakhand Positioned as Tourism and Economic Hub
The Chief Minister also highlighted Uttarakhand’s strategic geographical and cultural significance, calling it a strong pillar of India’s tourism economy.
He noted that more than 6 crore devotees and tourists visit the state every year, making tourism a major contributor to the state’s economy.
Dhami emphasized that Uttarakhand’s natural beauty and cultural richness make it an attractive destination for film shooting as well, further boosting its visibility on national and global platforms.
Focus on Film Industry, Investment and Job Creation
The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working to create a favourable policy environment for the film industry and industrial investment.
He added that such initiatives are expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities and accelerate economic development in the state.
Uttarakhand as Emerging Wedding Destination
CM Dhami also outlined his vision of establishing Uttarakhand as a leading destination wedding hub. He said the state’s scenic landscapes and improving infrastructure offer strong potential for luxury and destination weddings.
The government, he added, is working to strengthen infrastructure and facilities to position Uttarakhand as a globally recognised wedding destination.
