Dehradun: On the occasion of the New Year, the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) added 100 new buses to its fleet, aiming to enhance public transportation across the state. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the new buses at the Camp Office in Dehradun, dedicating them to the people of Uttarakhand. During the event, the Chief Minister released the transport corporation’s commemorative publication ‘Anwarat’ and a calendar focused on road safety, highlighting the government’s emphasis on both passenger welfare and public awareness initiatives.

Modern Technology and Passenger Convenience

Chief Minister Dhami emphasized that these state-of-the-art buses are equipped with advanced technologies that will strengthen the state’s public transport system. Features such as GPS tracking, CCTV cameras, e-ticketing, fleet monitoring, and timely maintenance will ensure safer, more convenient, and affordable travel for passengers. The government also plans to introduce electric buses to the fleet soon, signaling a push towards sustainable and eco-friendly public transport.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the administration has also focused on employee welfare, implementing Dearness Allowance (DA) revisions, 7th Pay Commission recommendations, and new recruitments to address manpower shortages and ensure efficient operations.

CM Dhami stated that the government views the transport corporation as a “medium of service” and remains committed to making it modern, self-reliant, and citizen-centric. The administration’s approach emphasizes transparent policies, accountability, and long-term planning, aiming to create a robust transport network that supports both public convenience and economic growth.

During the event, the Chief Minister also honored dedicated employees of the transport corporation who have worked diligently in challenging conditions, recognizing their commitment and integrity in serving the people of Uttarakhand.
