The Pushkar Singh Dhami-led Uttarakhand government on Saturday carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 19 IAS officers and 9 PCS officers across the state. The large-scale overhaul affected several key positions, including the District Magistrate of Dehradun, the Garhwal Commissioner, and the health, education and municipal administration departments.
Among the most notable changes, IAS officer Ashish Chauhan has been appointed the new District Magistrate of Dehradun. He will also hold the additional charge of CEO of Smart City. Former Dehradun DM Savin Bansal has been relieved of his responsibilities.
Major Changes in IAS Officers’ Postings
The reshuffle saw several senior IAS officers being assigned new responsibilities in important departments. IAS B.V.R.C. Purushottam has been posted as Secretary of the Higher Education Department, while Ranjit Kumar Singh has been relieved from the same charge.
IAS Vinay Shankar Pandey has been entrusted with the responsibility of Secretary, Civil Aviation and Health. Senior officer Anand Swaroop has been appointed Commissioner of Garhwal Division, replacing Sonika, who has also been relieved of the charge of Commissioner-cum-Inspector General of Registration.
IAS Abhishek Rohilla has been appointed CEO of PMGSY, while IAS Saurabh Gaharwar has been posted as additional secretary in the Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department.
New Responsibilities in Education, Welfare and Urban Administration
The Pushkar Singh Dhami government also introduced changes in education and municipal administration. IAS Namami Bansal has been made Additional Secretary in the School Education Department, while IAS Aakanksha Konde has been appointed Director General of School Education.
IAS Alok Kumar Pandey has been given charge as municipal commissioner of Dehradun Municipal Corporation. IAS Deepti Singh has been appointed Director of the Minority Welfare Department, and IAS Prateek Jain has been made Commissioner-cum-Director General of Registration.
In another important posting, IAS Apurva Pandey has been appointed District Magistrate of Bageshwar.
PCS Officers Also Shifted in Administrative Overhaul
Along with IAS officers, the government also transferred nine PCS officers. Girdhari Singh Rawat has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Information Technology, Swaraj and Science & Technology Department.
PCS officer Ilagiri has been assigned the charge of Director, Dairy Development and Director, Women Dairy. Sundar Lal Semwal has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Secretariat Administration Department, while Sunil Singh has been posted as Additional Secretary in the Home Department.
Anil Garbyal has been made Managing Director of the Transport Corporation. Jitendra Kumar has been appointed Additional District Magistrate (Administration), Haridwar, and Yogesh Mehra has been posted as Deputy Collector, Haridwar.
The reshuffle is being seen as an effort by the Uttarakhand government to strengthen administrative functioning and improve coordination across departments ahead of key development initiatives in the state.
