Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday distributed appointment letters to a total of 483 selected candidates in a formal ceremony held at the Chief Sevak Sadan, Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Dehradun.
Out of the total appointments, 473 candidates were selected for the Irrigation Department and 10 for the Agriculture Department, marking a significant recruitment drive by the state government.
Tribute to Former CM B.C. Khanduri
During the event, Chief Minister Dhami paid tribute to former Chief Minister and retired Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, recalling his vision for an Uttarakhand where youth identity is based on merit, hard work, and talent.
He said the appointment letters being distributed today reflect the state government’s commitment to fulfilling that vision by ensuring transparent and merit-based recruitment.
Transparent Recruitment and Anti-Corruption Measures Highlighted
CM Dhami emphasized that the appointment drive is a recognition of the hard work and dedication of young candidates.
He highlighted that Uttarakhand has implemented the country’s strictest anti-copying law, which has significantly strengthened transparency in recruitment exams. As a result, selections are now being made purely on merit and talent.
He added that over the past four and a half years, around 33,000 youth have been given government jobs in the state.
Focus on Good Governance and Youth Empowerment
The Chief Minister said that every youth should aim to serve Uttarakhand, stressing that government systems function through dedicated and honest individuals rather than buildings or files.
He also noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving towards the vision of “Developed India 2047,” and Uttarakhand is actively contributing to this goal.
Strong Economic Growth in Uttarakhand
CM Dhami highlighted key development indicators, stating that Uttarakhand is witnessing strong economic progress:

- Per capita income increased by nearly 41% in four years
- State budget size crossed ₹1 lakh crore
- Significant reduction in unemployment rate
- Noticeable rise in reverse migration trends
He said these achievements reflect growing opportunities in the hills, where youth are now seeing potential instead of migration.

State Irrigation Minister Satpal Maharaj congratulated the selected candidates and said their appointment marks the beginning of active participation in the state’s development journey.
He noted that the Irrigation Department plays a crucial role not only in water management but also in supporting farmers, rural economy, and water conservation efforts.
Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi also congratulated the youth, stating that merit-based recruitment ensures deserving candidates receive opportunities. He added that many young people are also starting startups and engaging in innovation.
