The Odisha government on Saturday carried out a minor reshuffle in the IPS cadre, transferring and posting several senior police officers across the state. The reshuffle includes changes in the Superintendents of Police (SPs) in 10 districts, along with fresh assignments in the Crime Branch, Vigilance, and Special Task Force (STF).
Smit Parmar Posted as Nayagarh SP
IPS officer Smit Parmar, who was serving as SP in the CID-Crime Branch, has been appointed as the new SP of Nayagarh district. The current Nayagarh SP, S Susree, has been shifted to the Vigilance department as SP.
In another key change, Bargarh SP Prahlad S Meena has been transferred and posted as SP of Gajapati district.
Changes in Ganjam, Khurda and Crime Branch
The state government also reassigned several district police chiefs in southern Odisha. Ganjam SP Suvendu Kumar Patra has been transferred as the new SP of Khurda district.
Khurda SP Vivekanand Sharma will now serve as SP in the CID-Crime Branch at Cuttack. Meanwhile, Kandhamal SP Harisha B C has been moved to Ganjam as the district’s new SP.
Additional SP of Bhadrak, Kashyap Parth Jagdish, has been elevated and posted as SP of Nabarangpur.
STF, Special Branch and Rayagada Get New Officers
Rayagada SP Swathy S Kumar has been appointed as SP of the Special Task Force (STF) in Bhubaneswar. STF SP Rabindra Nath Satapathy has been shifted as the new SP of Bargarh.
Boudh SP Rahul Goel has been transferred to the Special Branch as SP. At the same time, ADC to the Governor, Kuldeep Singh Meena, has been posted as the new SP of Boudh district.
In another important posting, Raj Prasad, who was serving in the Special Branch, has been appointed as the new SP of Rayagada.
