Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand has directed senior officials to accelerate the use of modern technologies to improve crime investigation, law and order monitoring and policing efficiency across the state.
During a high-level review meeting held at the DGP Office on Saturday, Anand stressed the importance of integrating key police platforms such as the Telangana Police website, Hawkeye, CCTNS and HRMS under a single digital framework. He said a dedicated technical team would be established to ensure continuity of projects even after officer transfers.
The DGP also encouraged young personnel to actively participate in technology-driven initiatives and develop expertise in emerging digital systems.
“TS-COPS” Platform Proposed for Single-Window Access
Anand instructed officials to build a high-speed system capable of quickly integrating multiple data layers for faster operational support. He also proposed the creation of a specialised task force to supervise all technology-related projects within the department.
As part of the modernisation drive, the DGP suggested developing a unified mobile platform named “TS-COPS,” which would provide single-interface access to systems including CCTNS and HRMS.
Officials were further asked to prepare a coordinated action plan for upgraded data platforms, digital dashboards and statewide integration of offices through the e-Office system. Anand emphasised that technology adoption should deliver measurable improvements at the ground level.
Five-Member IPS Team Given Six-Month Deadline
To ensure timely execution of the reforms, the DGP constituted a five-member IPS core team and set a six-month target for implementation.
N. Shweta will supervise CCTNS 2.0 and HRMS integration, while R. Bhaskaran has been assigned responsibilities related to data integration within CCTNS.
Chennuri Rupesh will oversee social media operations, video analytics and drone-based technologies. K. Apoorva Rao will manage data intelligence and training initiatives, while Avinash Mohanty has been tasked with monitoring traffic and road safety modules.
Technical Services DGP V.V. Srinivasa Rao, along with senior police officers and technical staff, attended the review meeting.
