Noida: The proposed Yamuna Pushta Elevated Road in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida is set to become a 50-km corridor after regional development authorities approved an extension of the earlier 31-km plan. The project, estimated to cost around ₹4,000 crore, is being taken forward with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which is preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR).
The proposed elevated corridor is expected to provide an alternative to the heavily used Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Yamuna Expressway. Its extension is aimed at improving connectivity towards the Noida International Airport and preparing for the expected increase in traffic in the region.
50-Km Route to Extend Towards Jewar
The original proposal envisaged an elevated corridor of about 31 km along the Yamuna Pushta, connecting the area around Sector 94 in Noida with Greater Noida and joining the Yamuna Expressway near Chi IV.

Under the expanded alignment, the route will continue beyond the earlier endpoint towards the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area and the Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway.
According to Noida Authority General Manager A.K. Arora, the extended stretch from Chi IV is planned to pass through several locations before connecting with the Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway.
“From Chi IV, the elevated road will pass through Gharbhara, Mursadpur, YEIDA’s Sectors 27, 26, 24 and 24A, and then connect to the Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway in Sector 23C.”
Key features of the proposed corridor
- Length: Extended from around 31 km to 50 km
- Estimated cost: Around ₹4,000 crore
- Implementing agency: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)
- Alignment: Along the Yamuna Pushta/embankment
- Purpose: Provide an alternative to the Noida-Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressways
- Airport connectivity: Extended alignment will move closer to Noida International Airport
- DPR: NHAI is preparing the Detailed Project Report
Corridor to Begin Near Okhla Barrage
The elevated road is planned to begin near Okhla Barrage in the vicinity of Sector 94 and run parallel to the Yamuna embankment. The earlier alignment was designed to pass through a series of central Noida sectors before reaching Greater Noida and connecting with the Yamuna Expressway.
The route is expected to provide an additional high-speed corridor for traffic moving between Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and the airport area.
The project is particularly significant as traffic on existing expressways is expected to increase with the expansion of air connectivity at Noida International Airport.
Chilla Elevated Road to Add Another Link
The Yamuna Pushta project is also being planned alongside other road infrastructure projects in Noida.
The Noida Authority is constructing the 5.5-km Chilla Elevated Road, which will connect the Chilla Regulator near Mayur Vihar with the Mahamaya Flyover. A separate elevated link of around 1.4 km has also been planned to connect the Chilla corridor with the Yamuna Pushta route.
Together, these projects are expected to create an alternative movement corridor and reduce dependence on the existing Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
Alternative Route for Growing Airport Traffic
The Yamuna Pushta corridor is being developed against the backdrop of rising connectivity requirements around Noida International Airport. Earlier plans for the project were also aimed at creating a bypass for traffic travelling between Delhi and the airport without relying entirely on the Noida Expressway.
With the proposed extension to 50 km, the project is expected to strengthen the wider road network connecting Noida, Greater Noida, YEIDA’s industrial and residential sectors and the Jewar airport region.
The final alignment, technical specifications and construction details will be determined through the DPR being prepared by NHAI.
