Bureaucrats Celebrate Diwali with Wishes of Unity, Harmony, and Heritage on Social Media

This Diwali, Indian bureaucrats took to social media, sharing heartfelt messages, songs, and reflections that captured the spirit of the festival. From lighting lamps to launching musical tributes, here’s how top officials celebrated the Festival of Lights:

IAS officer Supriya Sahu set a serene tone with her Diwali message on X: “Happy Diwali. May love shine in every heart, light illuminate every path, and happiness embrace all lives, human or wildlife, in a symphony of joy and peace.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Hari Om, IAS released a soulful new ghazal as a tribute to the legendary Begum Akhtar on the 50th anniversary of her passing. Sharing a snippet on X, he wrote: “Wait is over. Plz listen a short from our new release. A tribute to Legendary Begum Akhtar on her 50th year of passing. Treat this as our musical gift on Diwali 🪔 Song written by #drhariomias, composed by #aasthagoswami. It’s sung by me n Aastha.”

Gopal Krishna Dwivedi, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, shared a traditional greeting, saying: “Wishing a very happy and prosperous Diwali to all the friends and their family members.”

For IAS officer Padmini Bhoi Sahu, Diwali was a celebration with colleagues, where the workplace felt like a second family: “Diwali with your colleagues at the workplace truly becomes a family-like experience. The festival makes us feel belonging, Even if we are away from home. Happy Diwali.”

On X, IFS officer Mohit Yadav posted an inspiring reflection on Diwali’s deeper meaning: “As we light our lamps this Diwali, let’s celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, unity over division, and hope over despair. May this festival inspire us all to be a beacon of peace and progress in a world that needs it most. Happy #Diwali 2024! #FestivalOfLights.”

From Telangana’s Cyber Security Bureau, IPS officer Shikha Goel sent a message for a responsible and joyful celebration: “Wishing everyone a safe and joyful #Diwali! May the festival of lights bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to all. Let’s celebrate responsibly, respecting each other. #HappyDiwali.”

And, finally, IPS officer Dhruman H. Nimbale shared a thoughtful take on Diwali’s rich cultural landscape, writing: “Diwali is not just a #festival… It’s #culture, #religion, #Heritage, socialisation & vibrant life! Its #landscape covers not only #Indian #History, #geography, #theology, #mythology but #Economics, #sociology, across the #regions, #religion & #cultures!”
