IRS officer Rohit Mehra, also called the Green Man of India, is known to have created thousands of mini forests till now. Believing in the Miyawaki technique of plantation, the officer is behind making several cities of the country, green. He also launched a tree ambulance and hospital, a few months back.
The officer is once again in the news as a popular Instagram channel – 1000 Things in Ludhiana – shared a video showing Vrikkshayurveda plantations for making micro-forests in South city Ludhiana. According to the post, the project done in collaboration with NHAI is undertaken by the IRS officer whose Instagram handle is @panch_tatva_ . Through the project, the officer plans to cover all the flyovers in the city with greenery and grow close to 50 micro-forests that will help in restoring the city’s green cover.
