Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended greetings to citizens on the occasion of the Somnath Swabhiman Festival, marking 75 years since the reconstruction of the iconic temple.
He said the Somnath Temple stands as a symbol of unwavering faith and resilience of Sanatan culture despite repeated historical challenges.
Tribute to Sardar Patel and Dr. Rajendra Prasad
CM Sai recalled the efforts of India’s first Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel in initiating the reconstruction of the Somnath Temple.
He also remembered former President Rajendra Prasad for participating in its inauguration despite political opposition.
Major Push for Religious Tourism and Heritage Development
The Chief Minister praised ongoing efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop religious sites such as Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Mahakal Lok in Ujjain, and Somnath Temple.
He said India’s spiritual tourism sector is witnessing rapid growth due to large-scale infrastructure development at pilgrimage destinations.
Religious Site Development in Chhattisgarh
CM Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted that the Chhattisgarh government is actively working to preserve and develop cultural and religious heritage sites.
Key initiatives include:
- Development of Shakti Peeth temples under state schemes
- ₹148 crore sanctioned for Bhoremdev Mahadev Temple under Swadesh Darshan scheme
- Expansion of tourism infrastructure and beautification projects
He added that Chhattisgarh, being associated with Lord Rama’s maternal heritage, is also focusing on spiritual tourism growth.
Over 40,000 Devotees Benefited Under Ram Lalla Darshan Scheme
The Chief Minister stated that more than 40,000 devotees have visited Ayodhya under the state’s Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana.
The scheme continues to support pilgrimage for citizens, strengthening cultural and spiritual connectivity.
Call for Unity, Harmony, and National Integration
Concluding his address, CM Vishnu Deo Sai urged citizens to strengthen social harmony, brotherhood, and national unity while preserving India’s cultural values.
