11 IPS Officers Among 162 Transferred in Punjab Police’s One-Day Overhaul, Ravjot Grewal Made AIG, Counter Intelligence, SAS Nagar

In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government transferred 162 police officers in one day, including 11 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The state government issued two separate transfer lists on Sunday, marking a major overhaul in the state’s police force.

The first list included the transfer of 97 police officers, with eleven IPS officers being reassigned to new roles. The second list featured the transfer of 65 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), signaling a broad restructuring of the state’s police leadership.

Among the notable transfers, 2015 batch IPS officer Ravjot Grewal was moved from the position of AIG, Technical Services, Punjab, Chandigarh, to AIG, Counter Intelligence, Punjab, SAS Nagar.

2016 batch IPS officer Ashwini Gotyal, who previously served as AIG, HRD, Punjab, has been posted as AIG at ANTF, Punjab, SAS Nagar.

Vatsala Gupta, IPS (RR:2016), who was serving as Commandant, 27th Bn. PAP, Jalandhar, will continue in the same role but with an additional responsibility as AIG, ANTF, Ludhiana.

Jasroop Kaur Batth, IPS (RR:2020), previously SP, Investigation, Jalandhar Rural, has now been appointed as ADCP-III, Amritsar.

In other transfers, Aditya S Warrier, IPS (RR:2020), ADCP, Investigation, Jalandhar, will now take over as SP, Investigation, Amritsar Rural, replacing Harinder Singh Gill, 1395/PAP.

Vaibhav Choudhary, 2020 batch IPS officer and previously ASP Detective, Patiala, has been appointed as SP, Hqrs., Patiala, replacing Smt. Harwant Kaur (DR).

Akarshi Jain, IPS (RR:2020), ASP SD Civil Lines, Ludhiana, will now oversee the work of ADCP-I, Jalandhar, in the rank of ASP, while Sirivennela, IPS (RR:2021), ASP SD Model Town, Jalandhar, will look after the duties of ADCP-II, Amritsar (also in the rank of ASP).

Other significant changes include 2021 batch IPS officer Jayant Puri, ASP 13th Bn. PAP, Chandigarh, who will now take on the role of ADCP, Investigation, Jalandhar, and Vineet Ahlawat, IPS (RR:2021), ASP SD East, Amritsar, who has been posted as ADCP, Operations and Security, Jalandhar.

Additionally, Dilpreet Singh, IPS (RR:2021), ASP SD Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, has been assigned to look after the work of SP, Hqrs., Sangrur, in the rank of ASP.

The transfers are part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing efforts to streamline the police administration and ensure effective governance across the state. The reshuffle comes as part of an effort to strengthen the police force’s operations and improve law enforcement in key districts.
