Srinagar: A group of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) probationers of the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories) cadre called on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar on Sunday.
The young officers met the Chief Minister as part of their ongoing training and field exposure in Jammu and Kashmir, where they are currently undergoing administrative assignments.
Five IAS Probationers Attend the Meeting
The probationers who met the Chief Minister were:

- Mohd Haris Mir
- Shagun Singh
- Jitendra Kumar
Discussion on Current Postings and Administrative Responsibilities
During the interaction, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah enquired about the probationers’ present postings in Jammu and Kashmir and discussed the nature of their assignments and the functioning of the administration.
The meeting provided the young officers an opportunity to gain insights into governance and public administration from the Chief Minister.
CM Encourages Officers to Serve with Dedication
Wishing the probationers success in their future careers, Omar Abdullah urged them to work with sincerity, dedication and commitment toward the welfare of the people and the service of the nation.
He emphasized the importance of public service and encouraged the officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in their administrative roles.
Exposure to Governance at the Highest Level
Interactions between senior political leadership and IAS probationers are considered an important part of the officers’ formative training, helping them understand the challenges and responsibilities associated with governance and policy implementation.
The AGMUT cadre serves several Union Territories and states, including Jammu and Kashmir, and offers young officers exposure to diverse administrative environments across the country.
