New Delhi: In a landmark step towards modernising India’s judicial system, Surya Kant has launched two major digital initiatives – ‘One Case One Data’ and the AI-powered chatbot ‘Su-Sahayata’ – to improve case management, enhance transparency and make judicial services more accessible to citizens.

The announcements were made on Monday before the commencement of proceedings in the Supreme Court of India. These initiatives are part of the judiciary’s broader effort to build a technology-driven and citizen-friendly justice delivery system.

What Is the ‘One Case One Data’ System?

The One Case One Data initiative is a nationwide digital integration project that will connect case information from:

  • All High Courts
  • District Courts
  • Taluka Courts

Under this system, all data related to a particular case—across different levels of the judiciary—will be linked through a unified digital platform.

This means that judges, lawyers, litigants and court staff will be able to access complete information about a case from a single source, regardless of which court is handling different stages of the matter.

Key Benefits of ‘One Case One Data’

The initiative is expected to significantly improve judicial efficiency by:

Better Case Tracking

Users will be able to monitor the progress of a case across multiple courts through a single integrated system.

Faster Information Sharing

Courts across India will be able to exchange records and updates more quickly.

Improved Coordination

The system will reduce duplication and improve coordination among judicial institutions.

Enhanced Transparency

Case data will become more organised and easier to access.

Reduction in Delays

A more efficient case management framework is expected to help speed up disposal of cases.

How Common Citizens Will Benefit

The initiative is designed to make the judicial system more user-friendly for:

  • Litigants
  • Advocates
  • Law students
  • Researchers
  • General public

Citizens will find it easier to track their cases, access relevant information and understand the status of proceedings without navigating multiple court systems separately.

AI Chatbot ‘Su-Sahayata’ Launched on Supreme Court Website

Alongside the One Case One Data platform, the Supreme Court has introduced an AI-based chatbot called Su-Sahayata on its official website.

Developed by the National Informatics Centre in collaboration with the Supreme Court Registry, the chatbot will help users quickly access information about court services and procedures.

What ‘Su-Sahayata’ Can Do

The AI chatbot will assist users with:

  • Filing procedures
  • Supreme Court rules and guidelines
  • Case status and information
  • Website navigation
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Other court-related services

The objective is to simplify access to judicial information and make the Supreme Court website easier to use for ordinary citizens.

CJI Surya Kant Emphasises Technology-Driven Justice

Chief Justice Surya Kant said the judiciary is committed to creating a modern case management system that improves coordination among courts and streamlines the adjudication process.

He noted that digital integration will accelerate the exchange of information and strengthen judicial administration while making services more convenient for citizens and legal professionals.

The Chief Justice also thanked officials of the Supreme Court Registry and members of the Bar for their contribution to the successful implementation of these projects.

A Major Step Towards Digital Justice in India

The launch of One Case One Data and Su-Sahayata marks another important milestone in India’s ongoing judicial reforms.

By integrating court data nationwide and deploying artificial intelligence to guide users, the Supreme Court aims to make justice delivery faster, more transparent and more accessible.

These initiatives are expected to benefit millions of litigants and legal practitioners, while laying the foundation for a more efficient and technologically advanced judicial system.
