New Delhi: In a minor administrative reshuffle involving AGMUT cadre IPS officers, the Centre has assigned new responsibilities to three senior police officers, including the appointment of a new Director General of Police (DGP) for the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The reshuffle includes the transfer and posting of officers across Ladakh, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh as part of routine cadre management within the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre.
Anand Jain Appointed New DGP of Ladakh
Senior IPS officer Anand Jain has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
A 1999-batch AGMUT cadre officer, Jain has been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir, where he was serving in a senior policing role. His appointment comes as Ladakh continues to strengthen its administrative and policing framework following its transition into a Union Territory.
As the head of the Ladakh Police, Jain will be responsible for overseeing law and order, internal security, crime prevention and overall policing administration in the strategically important Himalayan region.

Mandeep Singh Randhawa Posted to Mizoram
IPS officer Mandeep Singh Randhawa has been posted to Mizoram after being repatriated to the AGMUT cadre.
Randhawa, a 2006-batch IPS officer, will now take up his new assignment in the northeastern state, where he is expected to contribute to policing and administrative functions under the state government and cadre management framework.
Aslam Khan Transferred to Arunachal Pradesh
Another AGMUT cadre officer, Aslam Khan, has been transferred from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh.
A 2007-batch IPS officer, Khan’s transfer is part of the Centre’s efforts to meet administrative and policing requirements across various AGMUT cadre segments. He will now serve in Arunachal Pradesh, one of the key northeastern states that shares international borders and requires robust policing and security management.
Routine Cadre Management Exercise
The transfer orders are part of a routine cadre management exercise aimed at ensuring effective deployment of senior police officers across different Union Territories and states under the AGMUT cadre.
Such periodic reshuffles help optimise administrative efficiency, strengthen law enforcement leadership and address operational requirements in different regions of the country.
With Anand Jain taking over as the new DGP of Ladakh and fresh assignments being given to Mandeep Singh Randhawa and Aslam Khan, the latest reshuffle marks another round of strategic postings within the AGMUT cadre.
