Bhuj: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Border Out Post (BOP) G-7 at Bhuj on the India-Pakistan international border, emphasizing India’s strengthened border security system and ongoing infrastructure upgrades in sensitive frontier regions.
During his two-day visit to Gujarat, Shah is participating in more than a dozen programmes and reviewing key development and security-related projects across the state.
BOP G-7 Built at ₹175 Crore to Strengthen Border Infrastructure
Addressing the event, Amit Shah said the BOP G-7 facility has been built at a cost of around ₹175 crore as part of a broader plan to reinforce border infrastructure in the region.
He noted that multiple technical and geographical challenges were successfully overcome to establish a robust security network in this sensitive border area.
Shah also mentioned that a similar centre has been set up in Banaskantha to help civilians understand the responsibilities and functioning of the Border Security Force (BSF).
Focus on Strong Border Security Network in Gujarat
The Home Minister said that during his first review meeting with the BSF after assuming office, the border region was identified as highly sensitive and challenging from a security perspective.
He added that the government has since developed a phased and structured security network across the border areas to ensure better surveillance and protection.
Shah highlighted that during construction, the border-adjacent terrain was raised by about 3.75 metres to support infrastructure development and security arrangements.
He also said he personally monitored the project for three months to ensure smooth progress of surveys and construction work.
Interaction with BSF Personnel and Tree Plantation
During his visit, Amit Shah interacted with BSF personnel and appreciated their role in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
He also planted a neem sapling as part of the event, symbolising environmental awareness alongside national security efforts.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
₹340 Crore Development Projects in Gandhinagar
Earlier, Shah also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth approximately ₹340 crore in the Kalol and Gandhinagar (North) assembly constituencies.
He also inaugurated a new primary school as part of the ongoing infrastructure push in the region.
₹1,200 Crore Projects in 10 Days: Shah
Addressing a public gathering, Shah said that in the past ten days alone, he has inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth around ₹1,200 crore in two constituencies of Gandhinagar district.
He expressed confidence that by the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, every village in Kalol and Gandhinagar (North) will have developed parks and ponds as part of rural development initiatives.
India’s Development Model Extending Across the Country
Amit Shah said that the development campaign initiated in Gujarat under Prime Minister Narendra Modi nearly 25 years ago continues to progress strongly.
He stated that the Modi development model has expanded across India—from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Gangasagar to Somnath.
According to him, this governance and development approach has enabled the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to govern nearly 80% of India’s geographical area today.
Gujarat Positioned as a Key Development Model State
Shah said that Gujarat’s development journey remains on a strong growth path and that Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency is moving towards becoming one of the most developed parliamentary regions in the country.
He emphasized that infrastructure expansion, security strengthening, and public welfare projects are central to the government’s long-term vision for the state and the nation.
