Maheshpur Silo FMC Project to Modernise Coal Evacuation

The Maheshpur Silo FMC Project is aimed at modernising the coal evacuation process through mechanised systems and improved rail-based logistics. The project will facilitate faster loading of coal into railway rakes, which can help reduce delays and improve the overall turnaround of railway wagons.

This will contribute to a more streamlined movement of coal from BCCL’s operations to consumers while supporting the company’s efforts to strengthen its logistics infrastructure.

Project to Reduce Dependence on Road Transportation

A key expected benefit of the project is a reduction in dependence on road transportation for coal evacuation. Greater utilisation of railway-based evacuation can help improve the efficiency of bulk coal movement and support a more organised logistics network.

The project is therefore expected to strengthen the role of rail transportation in BCCL’s coal evacuation strategy.

BCCL Strengthens Logistics Infrastructure

The signing of the Siding Agreement marks an important development in BCCL’s efforts to build a faster and more efficient coal evacuation network. The project is expected to improve the company’s dispatch capabilities while supporting operational efficiency through mechanised loading and enhanced railway logistics.

The initiative also aligns with the broader objective of modernising coal transportation infrastructure and improving the efficiency of coal evacuation.

Agreement Marks Key Milestone for BCCL

The agreement with East Central Railway represents a significant milestone for BCCL’s logistics infrastructure.

With the Maheshpur Silo FMC Project, the company is taking steps towards:

  • Modernising coal evacuation infrastructure
  • Increasing mechanised coal handling
  • Improving railway rake turnaround
