Bengaluru: BEML Limited, a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Defence, has reported a strong growth in revenue for the second quarter of the financial year 2026-27 (Q2 FY27), with revenue from operations increasing 42% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹1,191.61 crore.

However, the company’s consolidated net profit declined 31.3% to approximately ₹33.34 crore, compared with ₹48 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

The company announced its unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the second quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2026. The results were considered and approved by the Board of Directors at its 426th meeting held on November 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:45 PM.

A limited review of the financial results was conducted by the company’s statutory auditors, Vaithisvaran & Co LLP.

BEML Q2 FY27 Standalone Financial Results

On a standalone basis, BEML reported revenue from operations of ₹1,191.61 crore in Q2 FY27, registering a 42% increase compared with ₹839.09 crore in Q2 FY26.

Total income rose 41.5% year-on-year to ₹1,197.66 crore from ₹846.14 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

However, standalone profit after tax (PAT) declined 39.9% to ₹32.93 crore, compared with ₹54.80 crore in Q2 FY26. Profit before tax (PBT) stood at ₹47.30 crore, down 5.5% from ₹50.07 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Total income increased to ₹2,018.41 crore from ₹1,487.60 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

The company reported a standalone profit after tax of ₹5.67 crore for H1 FY27, against a loss of ₹9.12 crore in H1 FY26. Profit before tax stood at ₹13.33 crore, compared with a loss of ₹20.01 crore in the year-ago period.

BEML Q2 FY27 Consolidated Results: Revenue Rises 42%

On a consolidated basis, BEML’s revenue from operations increased 42.1% year-on-year to ₹1,192 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹839 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Consolidated net profit declined 31.3% to approximately ₹33 crore from ₹48 crore in Q2 FY26.

The company’s EBITDA increased 10% to ₹80.3 crore from ₹73 crore in the year-ago quarter. However, the EBITDA margin contracted to 6.7% from 8.7% in the corresponding period.

For the first half of FY27, consolidated PAT stood at ₹6.32 crore.

Higher Costs and Tax Expenses Impact Profitability

Despite strong revenue growth, BEML witnessed pressure on profitability during the September quarter due to higher expenses and tax outgo.

The company’s current tax expense increased to ₹26.28 crore during Q2 FY27, compared with ₹60 lakh in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

This was partly offset by a deferred tax credit of ₹11.91 crore, against a deferred tax expense of ₹1.67 crore in the year-ago period. The higher overall tax charge contributed to the decline in net profit.

The cost of materials consumed increased 51.6% to approximately ₹724 crore, exceeding the 42.1% growth in revenue.

Employee expenses also increased to ₹219 crore from ₹203 crore, while other expenses rose to ₹227 crore from ₹158 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The increase in material and other operating costs, along with higher tax expenses, weighed on the company’s overall profitability.

BEML Receives Orders Worth ₹6,229 Crore in Q2 FY27

BEML reported strong order inflows during the September quarter, receiving new orders worth ₹6,229 crore.

The company executed orders worth ₹1,126 crore during the quarter. Its total order book stood at ₹21,388 crore as of September 30, 2026.

Of the total order book, ₹3,421 crore was scheduled for execution during the current financial year, while ₹17,967 crore was earmarked for execution in subsequent years.

The strong order inflows provide visibility into BEML’s future business activity. The pace of order execution and conversion into revenue will remain important factors for the company’s financial performance in the coming quarters.

BEML Gets Exemption from Publishing Segment-Wise Information

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has granted BEML an exemption from publishing segment-wise information in its financial results.

The exemption applies to the company’s financial reporting requirements and has been disclosed as part of its quarterly results announcement.
