BHOPAL: Citizens in Bhopal have an opportunity to understand India’s new criminal laws and the changing justice delivery system through a unique exhibition that takes visitors through the entire journey of a criminal case — from the reporting of an offence to investigation, forensic examination, prosecution, court proceedings and the final decision.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav inaugurated the exhibition at the BHEL Dussehra Ground on October 3.
Organised over five days, the exhibition will continue till October 7 and seeks to explain the provisions of the new criminal laws, modern policing, scientific investigation, digital technology and the judicial process in a simple and practical manner.
Justice Process Displayed Across 14 Special Zones
The exhibition has been divided into 14 special zones, where important stages and components of the justice system are being presented through live models, digital technology, videos, charts and demonstrations.
Visitors can follow the process beginning with information about a crime and the police response, followed by investigation, collection of scientific evidence, forensic examination, prosecution and court proceedings leading to the final decision.
The format has been designed to make complex legal and investigative procedures easier for ordinary citizens, students and families to understand.

Crime Scene and Forensic Investigation
One of the key sections demonstrates the scientific investigation of a crime scene.
Through 3D models and live demonstrations, visitors can see how evidence is collected, documented and recorded through video as part of the investigation.
The exhibition highlights the growing role of scientific evidence in criminal investigation and how forensic methods can support the investigation process.
Dial-112 and State Command Centre
The Dial-112 and State Command Centre zone demonstrates how the police respond to emergencies using technology.
Visitors can see the process of receiving an emergency call, assessing the situation, deploying response vehicles and providing assistance to citizens.
The demonstration highlights the role of technology and coordinated response mechanisms in modern policing.
Police Station and Court Model
A police station model has been set up to explain procedures such as e-FIR and Zero FIR, along with other stages of police functioning.
The exhibition also features a court model through which visitors are introduced to the hearing and judicial process in a simplified manner.
Together, the two models provide an overview of how a complaint moves through the police and judicial systems.
Forensic Science Laboratory Demonstration
The Forensic Science Laboratory section demonstrates how scientific techniques are used in criminal investigations.
Visitors are being introduced to methods involving DNA analysis, fingerprints, ballistics and digital forensics.
The section seeks to explain how modern forensic tools can help investigators establish facts and collect evidence during criminal investigations.
Cyber Security and Women’s Safety
Another section focuses on cyber security and awareness about online and digital fraud.
Through the ‘Safe Click Campaign’, visitors are being provided information about safe digital behaviour and precautions against cyber crimes.
The exhibition also provides information about women’s help desks and arrangements related to women’s safety, giving visitors an overview of support mechanisms available to citizens.
Live Digital Quiz for Students and Youth
A digital quiz has also been organised to make information about law and civil rights more engaging for students and young visitors.
The quiz covers issues related to legal provisions and citizens’ rights, allowing participants to learn while interacting with the exhibition’s digital displays.
Live Theatre Explains the Journey From Crime to Justice
The major attraction of the exhibition is its live theatre presentation, which recreates different stages of the justice process.
Local theatre artists, police officers, doctors and prosecution officers are participating in the performances.
The theatrical presentation covers the sequence beginning with the commission of a crime and information reaching the police, followed by investigation of the crime scene, medical examination, collection of scientific evidence, investigation, prosecution and court proceedings.
By presenting these stages through a real-life-style narrative, the organisers aim to explain how different departments and professionals coordinate from the initial reporting of an offence until the final decision of the court.
Four Live Shows Every Day
The live theatre performances will be staged four times a day:
- 11:30 am
- 1:00 pm
- 3:30 pm
- 5:00 pm
The performances are intended to make the functioning of the justice system easier to understand, particularly for visitors who may not be familiar with legal and investigative procedures.
Useful for Students, Families and Law Aspirants
The exhibition combines information about the new criminal laws with demonstrations of their practical application.
For students and young people, it offers an opportunity to understand modern policing, forensic investigation, digital technology and the judicial process. Law students and those preparing for competitive examinations can also gain a practical understanding of various aspects of the criminal justice system.
For ordinary citizens, the exhibition provides information about their rights, police services, digital safety and the different stages through which a criminal case proceeds.
Exhibition Open Till October 7
The Madhya Pradesh Police has appealed to citizens to visit the exhibition with their families and children at the BHEL Dussehra Ground in Bhopal.
The exhibition will remain open till October 7, and entry is free.
Through its combination of live demonstrations, models, digital displays, forensic exhibits and theatre performances, the exhibition seeks to turn the functioning of the justice system into an experience that citizens can see and understand directly.
