Bihar Government Launches Special e-KYC Camps for Ration Card Holders Until December 30

All Beneficiaries Must Complete Aadhaar Seeding to Ensure PDS Benefits; Camps Available Nationwide for Residents Outside Bihar
Indian Masterminds Stories

Patna: To ensure that food ration benefits reach the rightful beneficiaries, the Bihar Government has initiated special e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) camps for all ration card holders from December 17 to December 30, 2025. The initiative, spearheaded by the State Food and Consumer Protection Department, aims to link beneficiaries’ Aadhaar data with the Public Distribution System (PDS) to enhance transparency and efficiency.

Special Camps for Aadhaar Seeding (e-KYC)

Under the National Food Security Act, all eligible beneficiaries must complete the Aadhaar seeding process (e-KYC) before December 30 to continue receiving subsidized food supplies. The camps are being conducted across all districts to facilitate seamless access for beneficiaries, ensuring they can complete the process without visiting multiple offices.

Nationwide Accessibility for Residents Outside Bihar

Ration card holders who live outside Bihar due to work, livelihood, or other reasons do not need to return to the state to complete e-KYC. The government has enabled beneficiaries to undergo the process at any nearest Fair Price Shop (FPS) or Public Distribution System (PDS) outlet across India, making the initiative nationwide in scope.

Verification of Suspicious Ration Cards

The Indian Government has shared data from the suspicious ration card management system to verify the authenticity of beneficiaries. The Bihar Food and Consumer Protection Department has directed all sub-divisional officers to conduct physical verification of this data in their respective areas and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Technical Process Ensures Beneficiary Authentication

e-KYC is a biometric-based identification process that uses fingerprints, iris scans, or other biometric details to authenticate beneficiaries against Aadhaar data. This technology ensures that only genuine beneficiaries continue to receive subsidized food and other essential items, reducing fraud and leakage in the distribution system.

Helpline and Assistance

For more information or assistance regarding e-KYC, ration card holders can contact their respective Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) or District Supply Officer. Complaints or suggestions related to e-KYC can also be addressed through the departmental toll-free number: 1800-3456-194.

With the e-KYC drive, Bihar aims to strengthen the Public Distribution System and ensure that every eligible citizen receives their entitled benefits efficiently, reinforcing the government’s commitment to transparency and social welfare.
