Patna: Bihar is set to enter a new phase of industrialisation and technological innovation, with the state government unveiling an ambitious development roadmap focused on large-scale investment, industrial land expansion, and infrastructure modernization.
Former Health Minister Mangala Pandey said that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Bihar is moving towards a “golden era” of industrial growth and modern infrastructure development.
₹5 Lakh Crore Investment Target for Bihar
The state government has set a historic target of attracting ₹5 lakh crore investment within a year, aimed at transforming Bihar’s industrial landscape.
Officials highlighted that this initiative is designed to boost key sectors including:
- Textiles
- Pharmaceuticals
- Electronics
- Automobile industry
The government has already taken significant steps to strengthen industrial infrastructure across the state.
8,000 Acres Industrial Land Acquired, Expansion Planned
According to the announcement, 8,000 acres of industrial land have already been acquired, with plans to acquire an additional 10,000 acres in the next phase.
This large-scale land bank will support the development of major industrial hubs across Bihar and attract domestic and global investors.
Mega Food Parks and MSME Expansion
Bihar’s agricultural strengths are also being integrated into the industrial plan.
The government has announced:
- 5 Mega Food Parks
- 100 MSME Parks
The initiative aims to boost agro-based industries, especially in sectors where Bihar has strong production capacity such as maize, makhana, banana, and litchi.
An advanced technology centre has already been launched in Bihta, which is expected to enhance employment opportunities and support farmer income growth.
11 New Greenfield and Satellite Townships Planned
To reduce urban pressure on cities like Patna, Gaya, and Bhagalpur, the government has prepared a roadmap for 11 new satellite and greenfield townships.
These planned developments aim to:
- Improve urban infrastructure
- Reduce congestion in major cities
- Promote balanced regional growth
Aviation and Infrastructure Expansion
The state government has also proposed major upgrades in aviation connectivity.
- International flight services to begin from Patna and Gaya airports
- Development of aerocity zones, logistics parks, and commercial complexes near airports
- Proposal for a world-class airport in Sultanpur, which is expected to improve connectivity in the Seemanchal and Kosi regions
These initiatives aim to integrate Bihar into national and global trade and transport networks.
With massive investment targets, industrial land expansion, and large-scale infrastructure projects, Bihar is positioning itself as an emerging hub for industry, technology, and urban development.
