Cherpal (Chhattisgarh): In a major step towards women’s economic empowerment and strengthening rural transport infrastructure, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai distributed Tata Magic passenger vehicles to women associated with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) under the Aajeevika Gramin Express Yojana (AGEY) during the “Sushasan Tihar 2026” district-level public grievance camp held in village Cherpal.
The initiative aims to promote self-reliance among rural women while improving connectivity in remote villages.
CM Flags Off Vehicles for Rural Transport Services
During the event, the Chief Minister handed over keys and flagged off vehicles for eight cluster-level organizations from the Kuakonda and Katekalyan blocks.
The program was organized as part of a public grievance redressal camp under Sushasan Tihar 2026, where beneficiaries received support under various government welfare schemes.
The Chief Minister congratulated the women beneficiaries and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to strengthening women’s economic independence through sustained livelihood opportunities.

₹5 Lakh Subsidy Per Vehicle Under AGEY Scheme
Officials informed that under the scheme, each vehicle is supported with an approximate subsidy of ₹5 lakh.
The Tata Magic vehicles will be operated by women self-help groups (SHGs), ensuring:
- Regular income generation for rural women
- Improved rural transport connectivity
- Better access to markets, hospitals, schools, and district headquarters
- Employment-linked community transport services
The initiative is expected to strengthen last-mile connectivity in remote and underserved regions.
41,000+ Families Connected Under NRLM ‘Bihan’ Mission
The administration also highlighted the progress of the NRLM ‘Bihan’ mission, under which 41,110 families in the district have been linked with self-help groups.
These families are engaged in multiple livelihood activities including:
- Agriculture
- Livestock rearing
- Small-scale industries
- Forest produce processing
- Other income-generating enterprises
Officials said these activities are significantly improving household incomes and strengthening rural economic resilience.
Women Call It a Step Towards Self-Reliance
Beneficiary women expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, stating that the initiative not only provides employment opportunities but also allows them to contribute to rural public transport services.
They said the scheme would enhance their financial independence while playing a key role in improving rural mobility.
Government Focus on Women-Led Rural Economy
The Chief Minister stated that women associated with self-help groups have become a strong foundation of the rural economy. He emphasized that government schemes are continuously creating new opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance among rural women.
The initiative under Aajeevika Gramin Express Yojana (AGEY) is seen as a significant step toward inclusive rural development and women-led economic growth in Chhattisgarh.
