Cherpal (Chhattisgarh): In a major step towards women’s economic empowerment and strengthening rural transport infrastructure, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai distributed Tata Magic passenger vehicles to women associated with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) under the Aajeevika Gramin Express Yojana (AGEY) during the “Sushasan Tihar 2026” district-level public grievance camp held in village Cherpal.

The initiative aims to promote self-reliance among rural women while improving connectivity in remote villages.

CM Flags Off Vehicles for Rural Transport Services

During the event, the Chief Minister handed over keys and flagged off vehicles for eight cluster-level organizations from the Kuakonda and Katekalyan blocks.

The program was organized as part of a public grievance redressal camp under Sushasan Tihar 2026, where beneficiaries received support under various government welfare schemes.

The Chief Minister congratulated the women beneficiaries and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to strengthening women’s economic independence through sustained livelihood opportunities.

The initiative is expected to strengthen last-mile connectivity in remote and underserved regions.

41,000+ Families Connected Under NRLM ‘Bihan’ Mission

These families are engaged in multiple livelihood activities including:

  • Agriculture
  • Livestock rearing
  • Small-scale industries
  • Forest produce processing
  • Other income-generating enterprises

Officials said these activities are significantly improving household incomes and strengthening rural economic resilience.

Women Call It a Step Towards Self-Reliance

They said the scheme would enhance their financial independence while playing a key role in improving rural mobility.

Government Focus on Women-Led Rural Economy

The Chief Minister stated that women associated with self-help groups have become a strong foundation of the rural economy. He emphasized that government schemes are continuously creating new opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance among rural women.
