Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the historic Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra at Amleepadar in Chhattisgarh‘s Gariaband district, where he offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra and announced several public welfare and development initiatives. Addressing thousands of devotees, the Chief Minister described the Rath Yatra as a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage, social harmony and unity.
He said Lord Jagannath inspires people to walk together for public welfare and prayed for peace, prosperity and happiness for every resident of the state.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma, Rajim MLA Rohit Sahu, Chhattisgarh Gau Seva Commission Vice Chairman Rajeev Lochan Maharaj, along with several public representatives and officials, were also present at the event.
Historic Rath Yatra Reflects Chhattisgarh’s Cultural Heritage
While addressing the gathering, CM Sai said the Amleepadar Rath Yatra is one of Chhattisgarh’s historic religious festivals and represents the state’s cultural traditions and communal harmony.
He emphasized that the state government remains committed to preserving cultural heritage while ensuring inclusive development for every section of society.

In a major relief for electricity consumers, CM Vishnu Deo Sai announced that the Chief Minister Electricity Bill Resolution Scheme has been extended by three months, moving the deadline from June to September.
He urged eligible consumers to make maximum use of the scheme and said the extension reflects the government’s commitment to reducing the financial burden on common citizens.
Mahatari Vandan Yojana Strengthening Women’s Financial Independence
Highlighting the state’s flagship welfare programmes, the Chief Minister said the Mahatari Vandan Yojana has emerged as a historic initiative for women’s empowerment.
He said:
- Eligible women receive direct monthly financial assistance in their bank accounts.
- The scheme is helping women become financially independent.
- Women are playing a stronger role in improving their family’s economic condition.

CM Sai said the state government is working round the clock to resolve public grievances efficiently.
He informed that:
- Complaints received by the government are acted upon immediately.
- He personally reviews public grievance reports every day.
- More than 42,000 complaints have already been successfully resolved.
He said the figures reflect the government’s commitment to transparent and responsive governance.
Bridge Announced Over Baltijor Nala
Accepting a long-pending demand from local residents, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced the construction of a bridge over Baltijor Nala.
The proposed bridge is expected to:
- Provide year-round road connectivity.
- Ensure safer transportation for local residents.
- Improve access to schools, healthcare facilities and markets.
- Boost overall development of nearby villages.
The announcement was welcomed by local residents attending the event.
Chief Minister Interacts With School Children
During the Rath Yatra, the Chief Minister briefly stopped his convoy to interact with students of Saraswati Shishu Mandir.
He spoke with the children about:

CM Sai encouraged the students to work hard and also clicked selfies with them after they requested photographs. His warm interaction with the children became one of the highlights of the programme.

The town witnessed a festive atmosphere with:
