New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Digital India Corporation (DIC) to modernise its IT systems and strengthen cybersecurity. The CISF Digital Modernisation Programme will bring more than 40 existing digital services together on a unified, secure and cloud-ready platform.

The two-year initiative aims to improve administrative efficiency, reduce paperwork and provide better digital services to around 2.2 lakh CISF personnel.

Under the partnership, DIC will act as the strategic technology partner, advisory agency and programme management support partner.

The MoU was signed by Sonia Narang, Inspector General (Technical and Provisioning), CISF, and Debabrata Nayak, Chief Technology Officer, DIC.

The signing ceremony was attended by CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan and DIC Managing Director and CEO Akhil Kumar.

Two-Year Programme For CISF Digital Modernisation

The modernisation programme will be completed in phases over two years.

The first phase will begin with a three-month audit of the CISF’s existing IT infrastructure. After the audit, the two organisations will gradually integrate and modernise the existing digital systems.

The upgraded platform will connect more than 40 digital modules through a unified interface.

It will also introduce automated alerts, real-time tracking of requests and improved information sharing across different departments. The existing digital services will continue to operate during the transition.

CISF Digital Modernisation: More Than 40 Digital Services To Be Integrated

The CISF has already developed more than 40 in-house digital modules to manage its daily operations and personnel-related services.

These platforms cover several important areas, including:

  • Salary and employee-related services.
  • Training and personnel management.
  • Inventory and operational management.
  • Leave and attendance management.
  • Healthcare and welfare services.
  • Administrative and internal communication.

The new system will bring these services together to make information easier to access and manage.

CISF’s Digital Platforms Already Handle Lakhs Of Transactions

Several existing CISF digital platforms are already helping personnel complete administrative work online.

According to the force, its e-Grievance portal has resolved 53,043 out of 55,046 registered grievances. The leave management system has also processed more than 95 lakh transactions.

The e-Service Book portal allows personnel to access and verify their service records online.

Another important platform, e-Anurodh, allows personnel to submit routine requests through mobile phones. These requests include leave applications, weekly offs and duty changes across 40–50 categories.

CISF Digital Modernisation: New System To Improve Personnel Welfare

The modernisation programme will also strengthen services related to personnel welfare.

The CISF has developed dedicated digital platforms for healthcare access under Ayushman, mess feedback, welfare loans and Director General scholarships.

By integrating these services, the force aims to make administrative processes easier and more accessible for its personnel.

The upgraded system is expected to reduce the time spent on paperwork and help employees receive information and services more efficiently.

Stronger Cybersecurity And Data Protection

Cybersecurity will be an important part of the modernisation programme. The CISF plans to strengthen its existing security framework to protect sensitive personnel and operational information.

The force will retain complete ownership and control of its data. Meanwhile, DIC’s technical teams will support the integration and modernisation work through expert guidance, mentoring and knowledge transfer.

This approach aims to improve the security of the force’s digital infrastructure while maintaining control over its information.

CISF Digital Modernisation: Real-Time Dashboards To Support Better Decision-Making

The integrated platform will also provide senior CISF officials with real-time, role-based dashboards.

These dashboards will help leadership monitor important administrative activities and make decisions using updated information. The system is expected to support decisions related to:

  • Manpower deployment.
  • Personnel training requirements.
  • Resource allocation.
  • Administrative performance.
  • Employee service requests.

This will help reduce manual reporting and improve coordination between different departments.

CISF Digital Modernisation Supports Digital India Vision

CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan said that the force’s in-house teams had already developed digital systems that personnel use every day.

He highlighted the need to integrate these platforms so that personnel could spend less time on paperwork and officers could receive accurate information when required.

DIC Managing Director and CEO Akhil Kumar said the corporation would work with the CISF technical team to integrate existing systems and strengthen their security.

The initiative also reflects the Digital India vision of building secure, efficient and transparent digital governance systems.
