UAE in Talks with India
India is also holding discussions with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the possible sale of the BrahMos missile. If the agreement is completed, it would become the missile’s first export to a Gulf nation, marking an important milestone for India’s defence industry. Reports also suggest the UAE is interested in India’s Akashteer air defence command-and-control system developed by Bharat Electronics Limited in partnership with the Indian Army.
What Makes BrahMos Special
The BrahMos missile is one of the world’s fastest operational supersonic cruise missiles. According to BrahMos Aerospace, it can travel at around Mach 2.8, carry a 200–300 kg warhead, and the latest versions have a strike range of around 450 km. The missile is designed for precision attacks against land and sea targets.
