One of the main topics during the discussions was improving the operational capabilities of the Ivory Coast Air Force. India and Côte d’Ivoire have enjoyed friendly diplomatic relations for decades. India opened its Embassy in Abidjan in 1979, while Côte d’Ivoire established its Resident Mission in New Delhi in 2004. The two countries also cooperate at the United Nations and other international organisations on several global issues. Côte d’Ivoire has supported India’s position on terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir and non-interference in internal affairs. In 2020, it also ratified the amended International Solar Alliance agreement.
