New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta celebrated Raksha Bandhan with school children at the Mukhyamantri Jan Sewa Sadan, where the youngsters tied rakhis on her wrist and shared their dreams and aspirations.
CM Interacts with Children
During the interaction, Gupta spoke with the children about their education, future goals and aspirations. She assured them that Delhi government initiatives would support their education, well-being and opportunities.
The Chief Minister also shared her feelings about the celebration, saying the affection and enthusiasm of children made the festival special.
She wished the children continued happiness and opportunities to pursue their dreams, while emphasising the importance of keeping Delhi safe and full of possibilities for them.

Raksha Bandhan Celebrations
The celebrations came ahead of Raksha Bandhan, with children from different parts of Delhi participating in the event. The students tied multiple rakhis on the Chief Minister’s wrist, offered sweets and interacted with her in a festive atmosphere.
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood also celebrated Raksha Bandhan with school students. Several students from different schools visited him and tied rakhis on his wrist.
Sood interacted with the students and extended his greetings to them and their families. He said the affection shown by the children brought him joy on the occasion.
Focus on Children and Women
Gupta’s Raksha Bandhan interaction came a day after she launched the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, which aims to provide financial assistance to eligible women and strengthen their financial independence.
The government has positioned the scheme as a measure to help women meet everyday needs and make financial decisions with greater confidence.
Together, the initiatives highlight the Delhi government’s focus on education, welfare, women’s financial independence and opportunities for children.
