New Delhi: The Delhi government is planning a future-ready industrial ecosystem focused on clean, technology-driven and knowledge-based industries. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa discussed the plan with industry and real estate stakeholders on Friday.
1,148 Acres Identified Across Delhi
The government has identified around 1,148 acres for greenfield industrial opportunities. This includes nearly 920 acres in Kanjhawala, 147 acres in Ranikhera and 81 acres in Baprola.
Delhi is also exploring the redevelopment of the 8-acre Jhandewalan Flatted Factory Complex into modern industrial and commercial spaces for emerging businesses.

New Industrial Policy 2026–36
The proposed New Industrial Policy 2026–36 will focus on industries that can generate high economic value while having a lower environmental impact.
The policy is expected to promote investment, innovation, employment and ease of doing business, while attracting Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and other knowledge-based sectors.
Delhi’s Strengths to Support New Industries
The government said Delhi’s skilled workforce, strong Metro network, proximity to the airport and established services sector can help attract new-age businesses and generate quality employment.
Sirsa said industry representatives should be part of the process of shaping Delhi’s next industrial policy.
Industry and Real Estate Stakeholders Join Discussion
The meeting was attended by senior Industries Department officials, DSIDC Managing Director Nazuk Kumar, representatives of NASSCOM and real estate stakeholders.
The government said consultation with industry will help shape a more future-ready industrial ecosystem for Delhi.
New Startup and Export Policies in the Works
Alongside the industrial policy, the government is also working on a new Startup Policy, Delhi Ease of Doing Business Bill 2026 and a new Export Promotion Policy.
These measures are intended to support investment, entrepreneurship, business facilitation and wider economic activity in the capital.
Focus on Clean Industries and Quality Jobs
Sirsa said the government’s focus is not simply on bringing more industries to Delhi. Instead, it wants to attract businesses that are technology-driven, clean and capable of creating high-quality jobs.
He also stressed that future industrial growth must remain aligned with Delhi’s long-term planning and environmental goals.
The proposed industrial push therefore combines land development with a focus on technology, employment, investment and lower environmental impact.
