New Delhi: DRDO-UPTTI MoU has been signed to strengthen research and innovation in textile science for both the defence and civil sectors. The agreement brings together the Defence Materials and Stores Research & Development Establishment (DMSRDE), Kanpur, and the Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute (UPTTI), Kanpur. The partnership aims to develop advanced textile technologies, encourage joint research, and improve knowledge sharing between the two institutions.
Details of DRDO-UPTTI MoU
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 6 July 2026 between DMSRDE, a laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and UPTTI in Kanpur.
The agreement is designed to promote collaboration in textile science and technology that can support both India’s defence needs and civilian industries.
DRDO-UPTTI MoU: Senior Officials Present During the Signing
The MoU was exchanged between Dr. Kingsuk Mukhopadhyay, Director of DMSRDE, and Prof. (Dr.) G. Nalankilli, Director of UPTTI.
The event was attended by Shri Amit Saraiya, Scientist ‘F’, along with Dr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, Dr. Supriyo Chakraborty, and other senior officials from both organisations.

Under the agreement, both institutions will work together in several important areas, including:
