New Delhi: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has successfully completed the signing of Tripartite Escrow Agreements for all 57 Mine Closure Plans (MCPs).
The agreements have been executed in accordance with the revised Mine Closure Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Coal, Government of India. The milestone is aimed at strengthening financial assurance and ensuring systematic mine closure management across ECL’s mining operations.

The Tripartite Escrow Agreements have been signed among:
- Coal Controller’s Organisation (CCO)
- Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL)
- Union Bank of India (UBI)
The agreements establish a structured financial arrangement to support the obligations associated with mine closure in accordance with the applicable guidelines.

Agreements Signed Under Revised Ministry of Coal Guidelines

- Soumik Parua, Branch Manager, Union Bank of India, Asansol
