New Delhi: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) has launched a three-month-long Preventive Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2026 under the aegis of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and Coal India Limited.
Based on this year’s theme “Probity for Prosperity”, the campaign will continue until November 16, 2026. It aims to strengthen integrity, transparency, accountability and ethical conduct across the organisation through a range of preventive vigilance and awareness initiatives.
ECL Launches Preventive Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2026
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Satish Jha, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, ECL, and led by Ms Deepti Patel, Chief Vigilance Officer, ECL.
During the programme, the CMD administered the Integrity Pledge, reaffirming the collective commitment of employees towards maintaining high standards of integrity and probity in professional conduct.
He also released the digital calendar of activities planned for the three-month-long VAW-2026 campaign.
‘Probity for Prosperity’ Campaign to Focus on Ethical Governance
The campaign is centred on the theme “Probity for Prosperity”, highlighting the importance of ethical practices in achieving sustainable organisational growth.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Mr. Satish Jha emphasised the importance of:
- Vigilance in professional and organisational activities
- Ethical decision-making
- Transparency in systems and processes
- Institutional accountability
- Maintaining high standards of integrity
The campaign is designed to create greater awareness about vigilance practices and encourage employees to adopt ethical approaches in their day-to-day responsibilities.
ECL to Conduct Awareness Activities Till November 16
During the three-month campaign, ECL will conduct a series of preventive vigilance awareness programmes and activities across the organisation.
The initiatives will focus on:
- Strengthening organisational systems
- Promoting transparency
- Improving awareness of vigilance practices
- Encouraging ethical decision-making
- Strengthening accountability
- Building a culture of integrity
The campaign will continue until November 16, 2026, with activities planned across different levels of the organisation.
ECL Senior Management Highlights Importance of Vigilance
Senior management members also shared their views on the importance of vigilance and ethical conduct.
Those present at the inaugural programme included:

- Mr. Girish Gopinathan Nair, Director (Technical/P&P), ECL
- Mr. Chitranjan Kumar, Director (Technical/Operations), ECL
The Directors highlighted the need for employees to remain vigilant and uphold ethical standards not only in professional responsibilities but also in everyday life.
Vigilance Message Reaches ECL Areas Across Organisation
The inaugural programme was also attended virtually by all Area General Managers of ECL along with their teams.
The virtual participation ensured that the message of vigilance, integrity and ethical conduct reached employees across different operational areas of the organisation.
Through the campaign, ECL aims to encourage collective participation in preventive vigilance and strengthen a culture based on transparency and accountability.
