Gorakhpur Bar Association Event: CM Yogi Assures Cashless Healthcare for Advocates, Highlights India’s Growth 

At the Civil Court Bar Association event, the Uttar Pradesh CM praised advocates' role in justice and democracy while highlighting India's development, welfare schemes and the state's emerging defence manufacturing sector.

Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday attended the oath-taking and introduction ceremony of the newly elected executive committee of the Civil Court Bar Association, Gorakhpur, where he congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and members.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the contribution of lawyers to India’s freedom movement and said that advocates play an important role not only in fighting legal cases but also in shaping society and strengthening the justice system.

CM Yogi Assures Cashless Healthcare Facility for Advocates

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave a major assurance to lawyers during the programme, saying that he was ready to provide cashless medical treatment facilities for advocates.

He said a system would be developed to provide the facility to members of the legal fraternity.

The Chief Minister also described advocates as vigilant guardians of the country and society and urged them to remain alert against conspiracies that could harm the interests of the nation and society.

Advocates Play Key Role in Strengthening Justice System

CM Yogi said lawyers have a significant role in maintaining communication between the judiciary and other pillars of democracy.

He highlighted their role in:

  • Taking citizens’ concerns before the judiciary.
  • Helping people seek legal solutions.
  • Building trust between citizens and the judicial system.
  • Providing legal guidance to society.
  • Upholding constitutional values.

He said advocates are not limited to arguing cases in courts but also serve as symbols of public trust, legal advisers to society and guides of the Constitution.

The Chief Minister also said that the three pillars of Indian democracy — the legislature, executive and judiciary — have worked within their constitutional boundaries while respecting each other’s roles and contributing to the welfare of ordinary citizens.

CM Yogi Highlights India’s Transformation Over 12 Years

Speaking about India’s development, the Chief Minister said that the country’s global image has changed significantly over the past 12 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He claimed that several forces were unwilling to accept India’s growing global appeal and that attempts were being made to obstruct the country’s development journey.

According to CM Yogi, India has moved from being among the world’s “bottom five” economies to the “top five” and is now working towards entering the top three.

He said that India today makes its own policies and is itself the decision-maker in determining its future.

India Has Made Progress in Infrastructure and Welfare: CM

The Chief Minister contrasted India’s current development with the situation he described as prevailing several decades ago.

He said that India has witnessed significant changes in the last 12 years, including progress in:

  • Infrastructure development.
  • Welfare schemes.
  • Poverty reduction.
  • Preservation of cultural heritage.
  • National development and unity.

CM Yogi said India is moving towards the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”, while maintaining its commitment to values and ideals.

CM Yogi Cites Government Welfare Achievements

During his address, the Chief Minister highlighted several welfare figures and said that government policies and welfare schemes over the past 12 years have helped improve the lives of millions of people.

According to the figures cited by him:

  • 25 crore people have moved out of poverty and are now living a more stable life.
  • 80 crore people are receiving free foodgrains.
  • 50 crore people have benefited from health protection through Ayushman cards.
  • Houses have been constructed for 4 crore people under government schemes.
  • Toilets have been built in 12 crore households.
  • 45 crore people have opened Jan Dhan bank accounts.
  • 12 crore people have received free LPG connections.

These figures were presented by the Chief Minister while highlighting the impact of welfare and development initiatives.

CM Yogi Says Rule of Law Strengthened in Uttar Pradesh

The Chief Minister also spoke about the transformation of Uttar Pradesh after 2017.

He said that before 2017, the state had a negative image and people from Uttar Pradesh were viewed with suspicion in other parts of the country.

According to CM Yogi, the formation of the “double-engine” government in 2017 led to a strong focus on establishing the rule of law in the state.

He said the change in the state’s image can be seen in the way people now view and interact with residents of Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh Emerging as Defence Manufacturing Hub

CM Yogi said Uttar Pradesh is undergoing a transformation in its industrial and defence sectors.

He remarked that the state is no longer known for illegal arms manufacturing but is now emerging as a hub for advanced defence production, including BrahMos missiles.

He said the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor is contributing to the country’s goal of achieving self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

CM Yogi Calls on Lawyers to Protect Constitutional Values

The Chief Minister urged members of the legal fraternity to remain vigilant and actively contribute to protecting the interests of the country and society.He emphasised the importance of lawyers in India’s democratic system and their responsibility towards the Constitution and the rule of law.

CM Yogi also recalled the contribution of lawyers and the Gorakhpur Bar Association to the freedom movement and highlighted their continued role in public life.The programme concluded with the Chief Minister extending his best wishes to the newly elected executive committee of the Civil Court Bar Association, Gorakhpur, and acknowledging the wider contribution of advocates to society, democracy and the justice system.
