Project to Include Bridges, Stations and Platform Works

The doubling project involves a wide range of railway infrastructure and civil construction works along the 41.04-km stretch.

The scope of work includes:

  • Earthwork and blanketing
  • Construction of minor and major bridges
  • Station and other building works
  • Platform-related works
  • Level crossing works
  • Other miscellaneous works

The project has been designed for 25T Indian Railway Standard Loading.

The doubling of the railway section is expected to add infrastructure capacity and further strengthen rail connectivity along the route.

Work to Be Completed in About Three Years

According to the project terms, RVNL will have 1,095 days to complete the assigned work.

The project will involve multiple components, including earthwork, bridges, station buildings, platforms and level crossings, making it a significant railway infrastructure assignment for the company.

The latest order adds another railway-focused project to RVNL’s order pipeline and supports the company’s continued participation in infrastructure development projects across the country.

No Related-Party Interest in the Order

RVNL has stated that the order is part of its normal business operations.

The company also clarified that:

  • There is no related-party interest involved in the order.
  • The promoter group has no stake in the entity awarding the contract.
  • The order has been awarded by a domestic entity.

The disclosure was made in accordance with the company’s regulatory reporting requirements.

RVNL’s Order Book and Financial Context

The ₹358.97 crore order represents approximately 6.7% of RVNL’s average quarterly revenue of ₹5,320.30 crore over the last four quarters, based on the financial information provided.

When combined with previous disclosed wins, the company’s total disclosed order book stands at approximately ₹4,188.57 crore, based on the sum of 10 orders disclosed across the last three fiscal quarters referenced in the source information.

This backlog represents around 0.79 quarters of average quarterly revenue coverage, according to the provided analysis.

The source analysis also notes that the book-to-bill ratio remains modest, suggesting that execution capacity could be an important factor in determining near-term revenue realisation.

Recent Order Inflow Shows Changing Project Mix

RVNL’s recent order inflow has seen a change in pace and project mix.

According to the provided financial analysis:

  • Q4FY26: Order inflows stood at ₹3,146.97 crore, driven largely by a major order from the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC).
  • Q1FY27: Order inflows declined to ₹1,041.60 crore.
  • Latest East Central Railway order: ₹358.97 crore.

The latest railway order is broadly in line with RVNL’s typical order size for railway clients, which generally ranges between ₹200 crore and ₹400 crore, according to the source analysis.

This contrasts with the company’s larger infrastructure projects, such as those awarded by NMDC.

New Order Strengthens RVNL’s Railway Infrastructure Portfolio

The latest LOA from East Central Railway adds to RVNL’s portfolio of railway infrastructure projects across India.

The doubling of the 41.04-km Kundawa Chainpur-Raxaul section will involve extensive civil and railway infrastructure works, including bridges, station facilities, platforms and level crossings. With an order value of ₹358.97 crore and an execution period of 1,095 days, the project is expected to contribute to RVNL’s ongoing railway infrastructure execution pipeline.
