Inside The 4th National POSH Conclave: Major Announcements To Strengthen Workplace Safety

The 4th National POSH Conclave brought together government, judiciary and industry leaders to strengthen workplace safety. A landmark MoU between the Delhi Government and NoMeansNo Foundation aims to improve POSH Act implementation through awareness, training and institutional support.

New Delhi: The 4th National POSH Conclave brought together government officials, judges, police officers, HR leaders, legal experts and industry representatives to discuss safer workplaces in India. The event focused on improving the implementation of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act and building a workplace culture based on dignity, respect and accountability.

Details of 4th National POSH Conclave 

The 4th National Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Conclave & Excellence Awards was organised by the NoMeansNo Foundation in New Delhi under the theme “From Compliance to Culture.”

More than 250 senior delegates from across India attended the event. Participants included CHROs, HR heads, Internal Committee members, Local Committee representatives, public sector officials, private companies and workplace governance experts.

Delhi Government And NoMeansNo Foundation Sign Landmark MoU

One of the biggest highlights of the conclave was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of NCT of Delhi, and the NoMeansNo Foundation.

The partnership aims to strengthen the implementation of the POSH Act across Delhi through awareness campaigns, training programmes, institutional capacity building, compliance support and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

As part of the collaboration, Delhi’s 181 Women Helpline will also provide guidance on workplace sexual harassment, making support and information more accessible for employees and employers.

4th National POSH Conclave: Dr. Rashmi Singh Calls For Culture Beyond Legal Compliance

The conclave was inaugurated by Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS, Secretary of the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of NCT of Delhi.

She said workplace safety should go beyond legal compliance and become part of an organisation’s culture. According to her, the POSH Act is not only a legal requirement but also a commitment to creating safe, respectful and inclusive workplaces.

She highlighted that prevention, prohibition and effective redressal are the three key pillars of the POSH Act. She also stressed that employers, Internal Committees and employees must work together with fairness, integrity and accountability.

4th National POSH Conclave: Senior Legal And Government Experts Shared Their Views

The conclave featured panel discussions on workplace investigations, organisational accountability, leadership, reporting culture and legal challenges under the POSH Act. Prominent speakers included:

  • Justice Prathiba M. Singh, Judge, Delhi High Court
  • Dr. Pinky Anand, Senior Advocate and Former Additional Solicitor General of India
  • Shri Ajay Chaudhary, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Delhi Police
  • Dr. Pavan Duggal, Senior Advocate and Cyber Law Expert
  • Ms. Veda Bharadwaja, Country Programme Manager, UN Women India
  • Aarti Bhardwaj, Lead – DEI & Wellbeing, Nestlé South Asia

The experts discussed ways to improve workplace investigations, strengthen reporting systems and create safer work environments across organisations.

POSH Excellence Awards Recognised Best Practices

The event concluded with the National POSH Excellence Awards, which honoured organisations and professionals for outstanding leadership in workplace safety, governance and POSH implementation.

During the closing session, Justice Prathiba M. Singh released “The Grey Files,” a legal fiction book written by Vishal Bhasin, Co-Founder of NoMeansNo Foundation. The book is inspired by real workplace investigation experiences and aims to improve understanding of the POSH inquiry process.
