Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 12 development projects worth ₹583.85 crore in Ahmedabad, covering transport infrastructure, housing, drainage, emergency services and electric-bus facilities.
The projects were taken up by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and were launched as part of the ‘Seva, Sankalp and Samarpan Abhiyan’. Six completed works worth ₹279.80 crore were inaugurated, while foundation stones were laid for six projects estimated at ₹304.05 crore.
Six Projects Inaugurated
The inaugurated works include major transport and housing projects across Ahmedabad.
- A four-lane flyover at Vadaj Junction in the West Zone, built at a cost of ₹127.92 crore.
- A four-lane railway overbridge at LC-24 on the Ahmedabad-Botad railway line in the South-West Zone, costing ₹98.60 crore.
- 329 Economically Weaker Section (EWS) houses at TP-39, Thaltej, constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at a cost of ₹22.24 crore.
- 15 First Response Vehicles for Ahmedabad fire stations costing ₹19.74 crore.
- 10 engine-equipped boats for emergency response services, costing ₹3.40 crore.
- A rehabilitation project comprising 108 houses and 46 shops at the Pakhajino Kuvo slum area in Shahibaug, costing ₹7.90 crore.

Six More Projects Get Foundation Stones
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stones for six projects with a combined estimated cost of ₹304.05 crore.
These include:
- ₹72.78 crore road-network development in the Ramapir Tekra LAP area of Stadium Ward.
- ₹65.51 crore rehabilitation of an 1,800-mm drainage line from Nagarvel Hanuman Temple to Guruji Bridge.
- ₹61.81 crore drainage pumping station and rising line at Navana in Vatva.
- ₹61.89 crore AMTS/BRTS electric-bus charging station and parking facility at TP-110, Nikol-Kathwada.
- ₹28.08 crore bus depot, parking and charging station near the SP Ring Road.
- ₹13.98 crore Tourism Temple Circuit along the eastern bank of the Sabarmati River, connecting Saptarishi Ashram, Jagannath Temple and Atal Ghat.
Housing Draws, New Appointments Also Held
The programme also included a draw for newly constructed housing and the distribution of appointment letters to more than 450 Assistant Technical Supervisors and around 50 Junior Clerks.
Patel congratulated the newly appointed employees and urged them to approach public service with integrity, commitment and effective use of technology.
The event was held under the Seva, Sankalp and Samarpan Abhiyan, a campaign being organised to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service.
The package brings together road and rail infrastructure, affordable housing, drainage, emergency response and electric public transport facilities across Ahmedabad.
