Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has approved incentive assistance for 15 large industrial projects with a combined investment of ₹1,567.18 crore, aiming to accelerate industrial growth and strengthen the state’s manufacturing ecosystem. The projects are expected to generate around 1,238 direct employment opportunities.
The approval was granted at a meeting of the committee responsible for issuing final eligibility certificates under the Industrial Promotion Scheme, implemented as part of the Industrial Policy 2015. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Industry Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
Major Push for Industrial Development in Gujarat
Officials stated that the decision marks a significant step toward promoting large-scale investment, manufacturing expansion, and technological development in the state.
Under the scheme, eligible industries receive incentive assistance linked to the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST), helping them establish and expand production units across various sectors.

₹1.48 Lakh Crore Investment Attracted So Far Under Scheme
According to official data presented at the meeting, Gujarat has so far attracted ₹1,48,336.35 crore in total investments under the Industrial Promotion Scheme.
These investments have resulted in approximately 1,65,053 direct jobs, contributing significantly to employment generation and the expansion of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Officials said the scheme has strengthened Gujarat’s broader industrial ecosystem.
Chemical Sector Project Leads Major Investments
Among the newly approved projects, the largest investment comes from the chemical sector in Bharuch district, where a project worth ₹999.82 crore has been cleared for incentive assistance.
Officials said this investment will significantly enhance production capacity and provide a major boost to Gujarat’s already strong chemical industry.
Growth in Automotive and Textile Sectors
Several projects across other key sectors were also approved:
- Automotive sector:
- ₹75.72 crore project in Ahmedabad
- ₹44.56 crore project in Surendranagar
- Textile sector:
- ₹13 crore project in Gandhinagar
These initiatives are expected to strengthen vehicle manufacturing, ancillary industries, and improve competitiveness in the textile sector.

The government emphasized that the approved projects will collectively contribute to employment creation and long-term industrial growth. With strong participation from chemical, automotive, and textile sectors, Gujarat continues to position itself as a leading investment destination in India.
