New Delhi: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has announced that its Chairman and Managing Director, Kota Ravi, has been assigned additional charge of Director (Operations) following approval from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
The decision aims to ensure smooth operational leadership and continuity in key defence manufacturing programmes.
Ministry of Defence Approves Interim Leadership Arrangement
According to an official filing, the Ministry of Defence approved the appointment through a letter dated May 11, 2026. The additional responsibility will take effect from May 1, 2026.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited confirmed that the arrangement complies with SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015 and has been communicated to both BSE and NSE.

Three-Month Tenure or Until Regular Appointment
Kota Ravi will hold the additional charge for a period of three months, or until a permanent Director (Operations) assumes office, whichever is earlier.
This interim arrangement is intended to maintain operational stability during the transition period at the defence PSU.
Experienced Defence and Aerospace Leader
Kota Ravi, who is currently CMD of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, brings over 30 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, operations, and electronics. He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Malnad College of Engineering and holds advanced management education credentials from IIM Ahmedabad and IAS Toulouse, France.
Focus on Operational Continuity in Defence Manufacturing
The additional responsibility is expected to strengthen operational oversight across HAL’s manufacturing units and ongoing defence projects. Officials said the move ensures uninterrupted execution of critical aerospace and defence programmes, which are vital for India’s strategic requirements.
