Chandigarh: The Haryana Government has transferred nine police officers, including eight Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and one Haryana Police Service (HPS) officer, as part of a fresh administrative reshuffle.
The latest orders assume significance as the government has revised the postings of five police officers just two days after their earlier transfers were announced. The fresh order cancels or modifies their previous postings, with no reason cited for the changes.
Among those whose postings have been revised are 2015-batch IPS officer Narender Bijarniya, 2014-batch IPS officer Lokender Singh, 2019-batch IPS officer Medha Bhushan, 2020-batch IPS officer Deepti Garg and HPS officer Pooja Dabla.
Narender Bijarniya’s Transfer Changed Again
The most notable change concerns Narender Bijarniya, IPS (2015), who was serving as SP, Karnal.
In the transfer order issued on September 3, Bijarniya was transferred as SP, Special Task Force (STF). His shifting had reportedly followed backlash from the Ror community over the police encounter of a Ror youth on August 7.
However, in the fresh order issued by the Home Department on Saturday, his earlier transfer to the STF has been cancelled.
Bijnlijk? He has now been posted as Commandant, 1st Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), Bhondsi, Gurugram.
Lokender Singh Gets State Crime Branch Posting
Lokender Singh, IPS (2014), who was earlier posted as SP, Security (CID) with additional charge of SP, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and SP, Commando, Newal (Karnal), has also received a fresh assignment.
He will now join as SP, State Crime Branch (SCB).
Medha Bhushan and Deepti Garg Swap District Postings
The government has also revised the district postings of two women IPS officers.
Medha Bhushan, IPS (2019), who was initially transferred as SP, Palwal, will now take charge as SP, Panipat.
Meanwhile, Deepti Garg, IPS (2020), who was posted as SP, Panipat in the September 3 order, has now been transferred as SP, Palwal.
The changes effectively swap the district assignments announced for the two officers two days earlier.
Pooja Dabla Loses Additional Charge
The latest order has also modified the responsibilities of Pooja Dabla, HPS.
Dabla, who was serving as SP, Recruit Training Centre (RTC), Bhondsi, Gurugram, with additional charge of Commandant, 1st IRB, Bhondsi, will continue as SP, RTC, Bhondsi.
However, her additional charge of Commandant, 1st IRB, Bhondsi, Gurugram, has been withdrawn.
Other Police Transfers
Besides the five officers whose earlier postings have been changed, the fresh reshuffle includes the following appointments:
Surinder Singh Bhoria, IPS (2014), has been transferred as Commandant, 5th Battalion, Haryana Armed Police (HAP), Madhuban, Karnal.
Vikrant Bhushan, IPS, will join as SP, Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB), Panchkula.
Amit Yashvardhan, IPS, currently serving as SP, Security, CID, has been given additional charge of SP, Commando, Newal.
Anil Kumar, HPS, has been posted as SP, Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB), Karnal.
Fresh Changes Follow September 3 Reshuffle
The latest orders come only 48 hours after Haryana issued a broader police transfer order on September 3.
The rapid revision of five postings has drawn attention within the state police establishment, particularly because several key district and specialised-unit assignments have been altered almost immediately.
While the government has not stated the reasons behind the cancellation or modification of the earlier postings, the fresh order establishes new assignments for the affected officers and further changes the leadership of important police units and districts.
